Ideally Garrett should give up the OC role (although Callahan holds it in title) and playcalling and focus more on managing the team, the roster and overseeing the coordinators and position coaches. I know some other coaches around the league retain playcalling roles but most of them have an OC or someone who serves the OC role.

I don`t think Garrett truly understood what he was taking on when he continued on as OC after being named full-time HC in 2011. I don`t believe anyone can effectively do both roles - one side will be short-changed as both are 16-18 hour per day jobs during the football season.

What I would suggest is someone from the same offensive tree take over so that a whole new offense isn`t thrown at Romo in this stage of his career. It wouldn`t hurt to have elements of GB`s offense thrown in there but I think all coaches around the league borrow from what is working for others. I do honestly believe upgrading the OL to league average would pay huge dividends in a way that is hard to appreciate. The offense looked downright dominant the one whole game Costa played and losing his run blocking ability crippled us all-year long. This offense we play is meant to be balanced and needs a strong running component to threaten the LBs for everything else to work properly. You can see in SD what happened to their offense when LT got worn out and that is why they drafted Ryan Matthews so high even though you really shouldn`t draft most RBs that high anymore.

I`d like to see us bring in one above average OL in FA to man RG, put up an open competition at Center with a healthy Killer and Costa. Bernardeau can be an effective backup at all the interior positions. We also need to add a premium draft pick to the picture, probably at RT if they don`t like what they have seen out of Parnell.

I listened the interview of Jerry saying that Jason called the plays for Wade and has been in controll of the Offense for 6 years, he needs help but Garrett didn't know he needed help, showing more disfuctionality within the most interior of the Organization, that spells D-O-O-M yet again.

Darren Woodson said in a Radio Interview just yesterday that nothing would change in Dallas untill the players have to answer to the Head Coach...not the Owner.

That notion becomming a fact agreeable for most that have faced medicocrity and lived it for 17 Seasons.

On offense Bill Callahan has the title of Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line. Even though Garrett was truely the OC. He's still under contract seeing as he just got here last year. Seems like if there's offensive shakeup Callahan would have to be affected strongly.

This actually makes too much sense. Jimmy would bring instant credibility to Jerry again. And appease the fans, while giving the media even more to write about (speculating about how long they could work together).

But only if Jimmy is hired as a GM consultant. Jimmy has to be able to do what he does best, building teams.

If Jerry brings in a coaching consultant, then I would prefer Gruden over Holmgren. Gruden is younger (in case he has to take over for Red) and much more passionate about the game. He still has his finger on the pulse of offenses around the league and in college. Plus he is a big advocate of the running game.

Holmgren's time is done. His stint in Cleveland and last few years with Seattle proves it. The guy absolutley reeks when it comes to personnel management. There was a reason why the Packers were so much more successful when Wolf ran the FO.

If the Cowboys are going to bring in an OC, then why not some young up and comer. There has to be another Chip Kelly in the making out there.

More than likely you are correct, but just to give you and me a ray of hope. I think it is all about appearances and public perception with Jerry. I don't think he has as much of a problem with bringing in a "football guy" as he does people thinking he is not still the GM and large and in charge. Not sure of Holmgren as his expertise is the West Coast Offense. I wonder if a Brian Billick would consider an offense "consultant role" He was the OC for the 5th highest scoring offense in NFL history in Minny 98... Just a wishful thought,

This is a joke. A consultant is not going to make a difference. Just another person to report to Jerry so he can make a "put on the blindfold and pin the tail on the donkey" decision.

The last thing we need is another cook in an already packed kitchen. What this organization needs is a new leader at the top.

He let himself get caught in the moment losing the last game. Some honest person needs to get to his ear and remind him he is lucky to have his team playing such a game in the last week with all the injuries and off the field incidents....

He better focus on getting the team healthy and letting his HC continue the good foundations he's been laying out ...

According to the JG group he gets one more year and if we sit 8-8 again he's gone. One year too late IMO.
