According to the JG group he gets one more year and if we sit 8-8 again he's gone. One year too late IMO.

I think, knowing Jerry's ego, the "consultant" would be the defacto GM. He will tell Jerry how to run the show, Jerry will run the show that way, and then take the credit because after all, he is still GM.

And frankly, if the "consultant" is okay with that, I am all for it. Whatever it takes to get Jerry to stop playing Madden with our team.

What it would take is a guy who loves what he's paid to do so much, who loves fb operations so much, and perhaps loves his paycheck so much that he's willing to forgo the credit. A wizard of oz behind the curtain is fine with me if it gets this team on track. And if Jerry's and his ego take the credit and said consultant is fine with that.... It may be our only hope....

This actually makes too much sense. Jimmy would bring instant credibility to Jerry again. And appease the fans, while giving the media even more to write about (speculating about how long they could work together). .

Will absolutely positively never happen.

Jimmy being content where he is aside, Jerry hiring him would be a public admission that he can't win without Jimmy. It would be a definitive statement that the last 17 years were a complete mistake and a waste.

I think Jerry would rather set himself on fire than stand at a microphone and admit that.
