Amazing how many Saints fans I saw the year you went to the NFC Championship game. Never knew the Saints had much of a fan base in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Exactly. I had no idea there were so many Giants fans in Tucson. If by some miracle the Saints win it all this year, I bet there will suddenly be a few besides my friend Michael. I have known him for 10 years and he proudly wears his Saints gear everey year.

The only reason I found this site was bec. the forum I was at linked to this site. The "owner" of that site had a link poking fun of this site, so I came over to take a look. Had he not done that, I'd probably still be there. Or have a later join date. Possibly even something as recent as 3 months ago....

And yeah, we probably do have a larger amount of bandwagon fans. That's because we have such a large fan base. I'd bet anything the % of bandwagon fans per team fan base is similar amongst ALL teams.

It just looks like we have more because of the sheer size of our fan base.

Personally, I like having a large fan base. I like seeing Cowboy fans when I travel. You can always give a quick hello, a "Go Cowboys", and they return the greeting with enthusiasm. I call that a good thing.

I agree. I actually joined the board once I found it, which oddly enough was about 30 years after I discovered the Dallas Cowboys.

Secondly, this board has been here only a little over 4 years... so apparently the longest any of us have been fans is that long?

After reading this thread, I'd say that some of the Saints fans are right, there is some bitterness. Well that, and the usual cowboy blinders that so many wear around here. But hey, that’s ok, this is a cowboy fan based forum. Thats what we're supposed to do. Obviously there is bias. Same with the Saints fans on their forum. Would anyone expect anything different? You see a few rational and objective people posting, but most are just big fans of an undefeated team. Same with every team at this time of year. They are all undefeated now.

Objectively, the Saints look really strong on paper. We know they have a top line offense, and it should be even better this year. They also improved their defense a lot. of course, who knows what injuries can come, and what really is going to happen. That's why we play the games.

Besides, after what they did to the cowboys last time, ( be it coaching or talent), the only way to shut them up is to beat them, and that's fair enough. Remember what they did to the Boys? They didn’t just beat them, they rolled over them, or at least that #44 did.

See now again, I think this is wrong. Especially the bitterness part.

Put it this way. every new member of another team comes here with the same insults. People get sick of it. I can almost partly understand why he comes attacking though, but its misguided.

See Andrew has told us he Lives in Dallas. That means he works in DFW somewhere. Now what that means to me is He probably proudly pronounces that he is a saints fan at work and at home. Which he should. So what happens is he probably works with a couple of those bandwagon obnoxious cowboys fans, we all know the type. After every loss gets mad and says aikman never did that or emmit never did that etc. After awhile listening to those people rag on you probably gets beyond annoying and frustrating.

So in turn he thinks all cowboys fans are that over the top obnoxious front running fan. Which we are not. So when he comes here, he comes in with punches flying because he is not used to talking football in a civil manner like we do on this board.

I think that is where the bitterness comes in, he thinks we are all chest pumping celebrate when we win and hide when we lose fans. If he would just be civil and talk to people and stick around, he would see that is not the case.

Until the "your team cant win a playoff game" "Romo sucks and cant win a playoff game" type of stuff stops it will be a waste of time in this thread.

I live just a little outside of New Orleans and I can tell you... the Saints have plenty of bandwagon fans. People don't even pay attention to them until they start winning (which hasn't been often).

Hey - I have nothing against the Saints.

I really do like what they are doing. They have a nice, young offense... their defense is improving; I really like their DL (especially Ellis).

And I don't hate Saints fans either.

I actually rooted for you guys in the NFC Championship game.

Well, ok, maybe not real bitterness, but it is perfectly normal for a fan of one team to hold some ahh, maybe resentment is a better word, toward a team that beat them pretty soundly. It’s just part of being a fan of a certain team. And a little trash talking goes along with that. Certainly rude, personal attacks are not justified, but nothing wrong with a little good-natured trash talk.

Anyway, like I said, that’s why we play the games. It's all speculation now.

Good luck to both teams. Hope to see a payoff match up. That’s the only way to settle the argument. For this year anyway.

oh, and there are bandwagon fans for every team. Always will be. And I have seen some pretty obnoxious Cowboy fans, and Saints fans, and Giant fans. But most obnoxious of all, is the Eagle fan lol I think we can all pretty much argree on that, right? Even the Saints fans may rank them above their hated rival, the falcon fan.
