That is not my point.

My point is... with Jerry running the show... we havent won a playoff game.

Get my point.

So Jerry was not "Running the Show" when Barry or Chan were the coaches .... only when Parcells and Campo was????

Jerry started running the show when he let Jimmy go.
Anything won right after was with Jimmy residuals... then a cheap playoff win or two and then nothing for what 12 years?

They won that 3rd SB in spite of Jerry and Barry.

Call me crazy... but I think its funny that JERRY is speaking out on our TEAM problems.

I guess the days of the coach doing that is over... atleast in Dallas anyways....

lol

I dont blame Jerry, he has spent millions and millions of dollars resigning and acquiring some of the best talent in the NFL and Wade/Reid throws that crap out there in the first preseason game.

I would be freaking pissed too.

You people kill me about Carpenter. The guy was about the only bright spot on the special teams, and he played really well at backup linebacker as well. If he's soft, he certainly didn't show it against the Chargers.

Carp played really well at linebacker???

Apparently we were not watching the same game, I saw Carp getting run over and drug down the field by a no-name bench scrub from Diego.

Carp and Burnett played like %^*&, both of them were either out of position, missed the tackle, or were run over and drug 5 more yards.

Zach and his 20 concussions has more balls then either one of these bust will ever have. They need to ask TO if they can borrow his Sharpie so they can take notes, seriously.

No, I really dont get your point. We have won 3 championships under Jerry, from 1960 to 1989 we won 2.

Regardless of who the coach is (Jimmy, Switzer, Gailey, Campo, Tuna, Wade), it doesnt matter. The money is all from Jerry, he pays the roster bonuses, he pays the signing bonus, he pays for extensions, he pays for the facilities, he pays for 2/3 of the new stadium.

I think he has a right to be involved since it is his millions that are being spent, dont you agree???

Tuan did find some quality players for us, but he had more than his share of bust picks too. Lets name a few:

Carpenter: 1st rounder still backup and questionable to make 53 man roster 3 years later = bust.

Burnett: Cant help but think bust when I watch him get dragged down the field by a no name bench scrub.

McQuistion: He was getting flat-out raped at LT against the Charger's backups, nuff said.

Rob Petite: Is he even still in the league?

Jacob Rogers: Another bust linemen, isnt that why Jerry said he had to spend millions on Bigg in free agency because of Tuna whiffing on the line picks?

I could name more, but I think the point has been made.

I could also name ratliff, Colombo, Barber, and a few others that BP got in low rds. If a guy even makes the roster drafted below the 5th rd you have done well. We got starters from that level- THAT is very good drafting. Now I know the BP haters will scream, but that is the facts no matter whether they like it or not. Now of course Colombo was not drafted by us but it was BP ;who wanted to take a chance on him.

Well first of all Wade and others get their say pre and post game press conferences and during a number of interviews including sideline during the game. I am sure we will hear from Wade about our not so special teams as well.

Jerry is also the general manager and owner. It is perfectly appropriate for him to respond about special teams. He isn't going over a particular player or explaining the coverage breakdowns, blocks and mistackles in detail, now is he.

The lack of preparation is concerning on special teams. It may not just be Bruce Read either. From what I have read they only dedicated a day to that group. Considering how we struggled last year that is disconcerting. It doesn't help that Keith Davis is not on board anymore either.

It was Bill who wanted to draft Spears over Ware it was Bill who didn't want to bother with Tony and it was Bill who didn't want TO. Any questions. Back to teams none of these guys play teams to make the roster. Until we get some real competition teams will always look the way they do. Lack of want to!

Same old argument ..... Jerry gets credit only for the bad, never the good

I will ask for the hundredth time (to this stupid example) What has Jimmy done since leaving the Cowboys?

Right ...... he had a lackluster four year run in Miami and then retired as a great disappointment.

All the great teams go through dry spells ...... its what happens after you have a dynasty.

why is Bill Parcells the almighty and Jerry the devil?

Has the mediots really influenced our perception on these men?

I dont understand the love fest for Bill and the hatred for Jerry.

I understand Jerry has made alot of mistakes....he really did...but he has learned and once again is the prime figure in rebuilding this team once again.

I know....all the credit should go to Jimmy and Big Bill.....to some they do no wrong but Jerry was just as much responisable for those SB teams and this team now that is considered a contender then those two......why cant more then one person get credit?

btw why is Bill considered a God to some? What has he won? How many years ago was that? Should we shun his accomplishments because Bill Billicheat was with him when he actually succeeded as a coach?

Dont we set that same standard towards Jerry? to some it was all Jimmy Genius.

I dont know....Big Bill Parcells is like Farve to the media....he cant do no wrong...he takes a bad team and makes them average and we all proclaim his greatness....he wiffs on high draft picks but we look at the lower rds picks to justify his eye for talent.

I do appreciate Bill Parcells.....I really did think he was good for this team...alot of stuff he has done was good for Jerry to see but I also see that Bill is not what the media makes him out to be.....Bill has his faults...alot of them IMHO....he claims burnout then trys to go to another team that is in a no lose situation....he sits in the visitors parking lots making deals with the opposing team about a Job. His ego refuses to let a player like Owens help a team to win......etc...

I wish Bill the best of luck in Miami....they will improve this year....but then again.....how can they not? and Bill's legacy will continue.

And If Jerry team wins a SB soon........we can also bet that Bills followers will proclaim his greatness and the this team won dispite Jerry and Wade's marhmellow coaching.

:)

I was concerned about specials teams with the loss of Reeves,Davis and Jones. That said, the guys like Jenkins, Scandrick, D Davis have to come in and play special teams well. If they don't fill those roles we are going to have problems for sure.

I don't know much about Reid other than he was the guy that The Music city Mircale was put on. How were his special teams overall during those years?

Oh brother. So in a few years when our current players start approaching the swan songs of their career and this team comes down off the pedastal they are on right now it will be because Saint Parcells and Saint Ireland are gone?

Wonder what your excuse will be for the Patriots coming back to the pack since they still have Saint Pioli and Saint Belicheck.

Football is a cycle. You have up times and then down swings. It was that way before Saint Parcells and it will be that long after he has taken a dirt nap.

Personally I think Jerry meddles too much and is involved too much. The Cowboys are a brand and as much as Jerry wants to win... he wants to market them, too. There is a conflict there...whether people want to see it or not.

I just dont want to wake up one day and its 20 years(currently13 years) that the Cowboys havent won a SB and the Romo/TO/Witten group didnt win anything and they are long gone.

I was against the signing of Zack Thomas from the beggining but after watching those two play I was glad he was picked up. Thomas is a lot smaller than Carpenter, is probably slower, and not as strong, and yet he is at the right place at the right time and attacks the ball carrier with ferocity. Carpenter looks like he would rather be playing in a 4-3 where he doesn't have to take on Olineman.

What is the conflict of Jerry marketing the team, and by the way the Dallas Cowboys do have a marketing staff and collateral marketing is undertaken by the NFL in general. In fact if anything Jerry as owner public relations the team and guess what he has a public relations director Dalrymple as well.

Does Jones have a hand in promotions, absolutely and so do GM's, coaches and even key players. So when Tony Romo, Terrel Owens, Witten speak on behalf of NFL football, the Cowboys team, United Way, etc.. how about calling that a conflict of interest as well.

Only a few teams with the same owner have won multiple Superbowls over a 15 plus year span and Jones is one of them.

Never mind that Jones has been recognized as one of the top owners in the NFL and even one of the top GMs.

You may fall under the category of a convenient memory lapser. When Jones is right you will forget, when he is wrong you will always remember.
