The NFL's policy precluding teams from showing video images of their own highlights on their social media feeds has provoked some pushback from clubs on Twitter, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed his displeasure with the mandate during this week's owners meeting in Houston, sources said. Jones had a heated exchange with Patriots team president Jonathan Kraft, who co-chairs the NFL's digital media committee.

Jones made an impassioned defense of the member clubs, claiming the highlights were team-generated content and clubs should be able to do what they want with them on social media. Some teams, like the Browns and Eagles, have made tongue-in-cheek posts aimed at the league's highlight policy -- the GIFs and videos are only displayed by the league's official social media sites -- and other owners have voiced displeasure over the measure as well.

Jones also expressed his belief that if the league can post the videos then the teams should do so as well. Kraft actually got up and left the meeting room at one point, sources said.

I agree with Jerry, I hope he wins this one. I think if Elliott, Prescott or Bryant or anyone makes a good play and there's a highlight of it that the players should be able to post the play. I mean it is their work that their putting out there. If I was in the NFL and made a sack, TD or incredible play, I'd want my friends to be able to see it on my social media.

Is it any wonder that NFL TV ratings are down ~10%...
The no fun league stuck in the past.

A side with whoever wants to make it free to watch for the fans. And I'm guessing that is with the teams, because the NFL always wants to charge money for everything.

Controlling it's own content is abusing it's power? Nonsense.

The league office works for the teams.

The teams should have the ability to do with their own game content as they see fit. To not allow team twitter accounts to show highlights is beyond stupid. The only reason the league is doing this is because Goodell is a puppet of the Pats and Giants and they apparently are the ones pushing this.

I would bet that the "no fun league" has nothing to do with ratings but it is the oldtimers that are not watching anymore rather than the younguns.

This beef will be settled in the super bowl, back in the place it started: Houston

Stephen A and idiot fans/media: How is JJ gone argue with a Kraft. JJ hasn't won nothing in 20 years, Kraft is a winner.
