Because all of these guys are going 24/7 and doing nothing else in their lives. One night out of a week is not going to determine a damn thing. Fact is you would complain no matter what jerry was doing.

Fact is you would defend this 1 playoff win in 18 years gm no matter what. Name another GM that's in Papa Johns commercials, appearances on The League, Entourage, and Dallas on top of that trying to attract other events to the new stadium. Where is this in the GMs job description?

It's alright to be a celebrity owner but if you are stay away from the football operations because as much as he loves the spotlight he obviously can't do both, there's a reason why it's no such thing as a celebrity gm.

I don't care where Jerry goes, spends his money on, or who he sleeps with.

All that bothers me is he is bad at his job as a GM. In the ultra competive, ultra parity NFL if you have a poor GM, who is probably the most important role on or off the field in an organization, it makes it very difficult to win consistently in today's nfl. All the other stuff is just noise to me.

Call me stupid.

It may be splitting hairs to say something bad about a losing GM attending the Oscars but right now he should be doing just that because splitting hairs is what it's all about as a Pro Level GM this time of the season.

If I were the GM you wouldn't see me outside the film room for 3 months after the season unless it was Pro Day or the NFL Combine.

That's because your job would depend on it, but in Jerry's case it doesn't. If you were invited to the Oscar's and you know that you couldn't get fired no matter what then you'd probably say "what the heck I'm going".

Whenever I've gone to a Cowboys game, it was to see the people wearing the stars on the field, not the idiots they call "celebrity stars" sitting in the stands. For the life of me, I can't see why celebrities are treated like Gods. Most aren't even worthy to hang out with normal, fun people.

As for Jerry, the further away from the operational part of the Cowboys, the better.....

Lol you guys are so bitter. He gets to go to the Oscars while everyone else is stuck on their couch watching it. It's not a big deal, my god.

Can you imagine what the thread would look like if the title read Romo at Oscars"? We easily be up to 15 pages by now.

I am not sure why anyone would be upset about this. The more time he spends away from VR the better. Maybe they will offer him a chance to write a screenplay about his own story. Now why would I expect the word glory to be in the title somewhere?

This is the problem, if he's going to be a GM the he should do his research, immerse himself in the process similar to a scout not to mention free agency is getting ready to start. You say he's hired people to do that work but if he's going to be the tie breaker then he should be focused on player evaluation because GMs season has already begun.

If he was totally detached from the player acquisition process I wouldn't have a problem at all with him being anywhere he wants but he's not.

Yes he is a tie breaker based on the information they give him. He is not out scouting players that is what scouts do. Being able to argue your reason of taking one guy over another is key. Ireland did that with Ware when BP wanted Spears and Jerry was the tie breaker it was not based on Jerry knowledge of the player but of the case that was made by Ireland. I'm not saying any other GM would do it this way but then Tex was not a personel guy either he relied on Gil Brandt and Landry and yes Tex was a tie breaker but basiclly they worked together not aginst each other.
