Jerry: Confident in McCarthy, coaching staff is outstanding

For sure it is the problem, the thing is after 96 Aikmen and the rest coldn't overcome it either, we have had talent players even HOF coaches since and his way has ruined it everytime. Players and Coaches will get the blame and they will go away... but until the problem decides to correct himself it will just be the same, fans saying "Why can we never get a good coach or an elite QB" because the 1st problem makes this statement come true no matter the name in its place.
Hence, "insanity definition." Spot on bro.

Another weird one for ya. Can you imagine if Cincy won it all and how Crazy Jerry might use that as some type of platform to justify success?
You prolly already know but Mike Brown is the only other GM/Owner...

I could hear Jerry say Dak is his Burrow and McCarthy is already better than Zac Taylor as his coach.

It would sure mess up a whole lotta previous posts here about being an owner/GM and the lack of success I tell ya!
LOL

That’s a fine perspective to take for the sake of discussion. But I’m more interesting in discussion and argument over what we think our ownership will do, not what we think we should do.
I think they’re one and the same thing.

I feel that if the Cowboys again get bounced in the first round of the playoffs, Jerry will reach out to Sean Payton to gauge interest, asking price, and draft compensation.

And if he deems that acceptable, I think McCarthy and Co are out, and Payton, Fangio, and Co are in.

There is no way that the Cowboys would be a 7 point dog.
I sure hope they win so we can find out. They will be on the road and the best thing for this DC team is to win ugly and stay humble. Honestly, I don't think both our Oline and Dline have the mental and physical toughness to win a playoff game against Phili or SF much less the Bucs. The team had better find their confidence and will to win or another one and done.

Not really just because the Bengals owner is a better GM we still have 26 years of proof that Jerry is not.

Ok tell me what it changes big picture... I'm all for it if Payton is held accountable but allowed to do things his way. This is what I mean Payton picks all assistans and coordinators..if Payton wants diferent players Jerry does what he needs to do to get them, Wether it be a 5 year plan or 3 or whatever I want it out in the public thats the plan and either he produces or is gone. I have no confidence this is what will happen, I have alot of confidence we will be back in 2 to 3 years talking about Payton being a "Puppet"

Do you consider McCarthy to be a “puppet”?

I do not, but I also dont think his role here is anywhere close to what it was in GB when he was winning. I dont think any HC will get that kind of control because our owner will never give the head Coach that kind of power again...

You truly believe that winning this playoff game will be THE deciding factor in Fat Mikey’s job here?
WHY??

That in itself is a definition of puppetry and dysfunction. Regardless what level it is. Lol

wonder if this will still be his answer come Tuesday morning

And Jethro isn’t the worst GM. He’s just not in the upper tier which is needed . And he meddles entirely too much with his owners title.

1. What's Jerry supposed to say?
2. Jerry's said stuff like this before and then done whatever he wants.
3. I just wanna know what bourbon he's drinking. That must be some good stuff...
Does not matter what he sais the same people will bash him it is what they do

There is simply no indication whatsoever that winning this playoff game is required for Fat Mikey to retain his job.

I can’t imagine Jethro becoming so frustrated after back to back 12 win seasons .

Shoot, most didn’t even expect this year we’d be serious contenders .

mr Risen---you know Jerry was more than half drunk on Johnnie Walker blue label ( 250 per liter ) when he said such BS...Jerry is at least point one 24/7/365....He is a Marketer first who just so happens to own

an NFL team says mr Fisher....i believe it

breaking-bad-nope.gif
mr Hawkeye---you are priceless

I’m not sure why some fans would believe this season was all about winning a playoff game?

I’d argue just making the playoffs was more of an ultimatum. If we had missed then his job might have been in jeopardy.

But consecutive 12 win playoff seasons you're going to fire your HC. And then expect another proven HC to come in?

MM does what again ? Oh, he makes the dumb decisions to go for it on 4th and 5 from his own 34 and doesn’t get it and the roof caved in and a close game turned in to a blowout. Or winning the coin toss and deferring so we receive the kickoff - where the past 6 times he did it resulted in punting or a turnover. Or the questionable game management decisions he is famous for. When he was available to be hired no other team was taking him until Jerry arrived. Did you like him admitting he lied in his hiring news conference about reviewing game film ? And most of those 12 wins each season came from a terrible NFC East or losing teams. Did you like how embarrassed and scared his team was when they got beat by the Niners at home in the playoff game last year ? Apparently you are as clueless as Jerry.
You are 100% right about the wins mostly coming against sorry teams....I hadn't thought about that....obviously the supporters of Corky haven't either.

So if he’s not a puppet, he’s a head coach. A head coach in an organization drafting well and spending what they can. That’s a favorable environment in my view.
