Not going to turn this into a Hardy thread but the guy had problems---nobody in the league wanted to touch him last season, gutless head coach or not.

Rumor is he was on drugs when he was here. Easy to believe given the cocaine charges he had a little while back.
Rumors are worthless. I agree, its telling that no other club picked him up. I get that. Harding is old news and l don't want to persue it any more than others do. He is done. My point was the Cowboys have had plenty of his kind and nade it work...Harvey Martin comes to memory without putting too fine an edge on it. Haley?? Fairly disturbed...by any account. I say these things respectfully.

They tried and failed in the 2015 offseason.

Greg Hardy had just as much upside as any 4-3 end in the league and Gregory was still a bargain in the second.

You swing, you miss---maybe this year they won't be so risky with it.
Sometimes you swing and hit a grand slam. Thats what we need. At this point, I'll settle for a triple.

Only premier defensive end is JPP. At the very least, Jerry seems to be talking a little out of the ordinary compared to his offseason remarks the last few years when we have been very conservative in free agency. Regardless, Jerry sure has a way with words.

“If I have a chance to bring one of these premiere pass rushers, one of these war daddies that takes two to block, if I have a chance to get a player like that — I would … it’s not a question of that,” Jones said on ESPN Dallas 103.3 (via the Dallas Morning News). “It’s a question of where is he? And who gives him up if he’s a veteran, or where is he in the draft, or where is he anywhere? So, yeah we do need pressure. We’re going to try to do something about it.”

Jerry is no fool. He can smell it.

Or any other coach in the league after he flamed out in Dallas. Johnsons and Landrys don't grow on trees, I guess.
I can add that Garrett never took the responsibility he should have for losing Hardy. His lack of leadership really led to the post season collapse....and a hard edged player like Greg could have over come an average team like Green Bay.

I'd love for there to be a chance for that!

I'd even throw in picks.
Would Houton be willing to give up either Clowney or Watt? They do need a real QB but I don't se them giving up either.

I love that Jerry wants his "war daddy"... I just don't know that one is out there in free agency..maybe JPP is the closest...in the draft I don't know if any will be available when we pick.

I usually cringe when Jerry talks football. I like what he's saying here. Not sure who that guy is either, but I like that he's saying he's willing to go out and get this type of guy if he were somehow available.

That's how I feel about Eric Berry. I don't want to be big spenders in free agency, BUT if KC lets Berry hit the market, I'm moving stuff around to make that deal happen. If you add Berry and then decide to get semi-aggressive and move up some in the 1st round to get a premiere pass rusher, this defense is now on a whole other level.

From what I've seen of Watt's contract, I don't think they could afford to even if they wanted to. And, given his back issues, they just might want to get out of that deal.

Clowney is tradeable, and his cost to keep is going to skyrocket really soon. But who knows if Houston would consider it?

You can't just throw in Watt in the same sentence as if they're equal

Watt is the best defensive lineman in the NFL...Clowney isn't close

Berry is going to be the highest paid S in the league

No thanks...save those bucks for a DL
