I am going to defend Jerry on this post. It may be the first and last time i defend him. Diontae Johnson is in the last year of his contract and will be a free agent next year. He would most likely be gone to another team next year meaning we just threw away draft picks if we traded for Johnson. Mingo is still on a rookie contract and is under contract for 2025 and 2026. This isn't a move to necessarily win this year but a move to maybe help in 2025 and 2026. Whether this is a good trade or not depends on whether Mingo can come in and be a 2nd or 3rd WR next year. I remember liking this guy when he was at Ole Miss.

The problem is this was the time to buy low on a player. You don’t buy low on a guy who has potential. This what cost them with Lance. Mingo the player I’m for with. We got done in by the one GM team worse then ours.

Tolbert will have one more year and be gone, Brooks is a dud. I dont have much expectations for Flournoy but he will be given a chance to be a 4/5 WR next year.
