anybody else see JPP in Lawrence? they both have those long arms and can really bend around Tackles.

Hope I'm wrong, but expectations for this kid are way too high. I suspect people will be disappointed with some of the stuff I'm reading in this thread. Going from Boise St to the nfl isn't exactly a quick jump...there's going to be a serious learning curve.

My biggest concern is when Jerry Jones opens his mouth....over hyping a rookie who has not played a down is setting this kid up to fail;.....The GM/Owner needs to set back relax and let this kid play.....good things happen when Jerry Jones is muted.

I agree in principle but I don't really remember Jerry being on mute. Maybe muffled a tad.

It's exciting to dream about the "what if" scenarios of him being added to the lineup in two weeks, but like others have said we can't over-expect. If he's capable of coming in and just providing a little more athleticism and rush off the edge, regardless of overall sack number, that'll be a good thing for this defense.

what is his weight at now?

He was around 250 when we drafted him, but I have heard reports that he put on about 20 pounds since then because all he could do was lift weights with an injured foot.

So based on this I would say he should be around 270-275.......................I really don't care how much he weights as long as he can put some pressure on the QB, we need that desperately.

This guy will be the most overhyped rookie in Cowboys history. People are setting themselves up for disappointment.

Combination of Jerry Hype and desperate need for an edge rusher.

Lawrence is going to be good. He might not be from day one, but he will be an impact starter.

That's a stretch imo. JPP is one of the best DE's in the game when he's healthy, and he's almost 6'6" with a freakish wingspan. D-Law isn't quite on that level, although he is a great athlete. That's not to say that I don't think he can become a really good player, because I do, but not on the same level as JPP. Just my two cents.

Whoa hold that frame of thought there Cowboy.......two of the best defenders on the Cowboys right now are from Boise St. - Scandrick and Crawford.

I don't agree with you here....

20 lbs in 2 months huh?? When is he scheduled to get tested for HGH?

on another note, I just see him as another Rushman to add to the fire.

I usually call Jerry Jones a used car salesman however I believe Lawrence is ready to make an impact.
