“I have closed off the buffet at the STAR, we expect great results from Coach McCarthy this year.”

"So, it’s not fait accompli that he’s going to coach this year without a contract (extension)."

Arkansas Jerry speaks French? Who knew?

Im really ready for Jerry to move on from this franchise, he sounds more and more ridiculous when he speaks.

McCarthy is washed up I don't care if you win 15 games in the regular season when you can't prepare a team any better for a home game against an inferior opponent in the playoffs than that you just flat out suck.

Jerry saw what we saw in that game all the people players coaches that couldn't seize an opportunity and make the best of it and I think before it's all over they're all going to go

Each passing year I say to myself that nothing the Cowboys owner does or says at this point can shock me anymore.
Then he throws a doozy like this out there for all of us to chew on.

I'm literally speechless.
smh
"Stephen is in control, yada, yada yada."

My ***.

smh

This isn’t news, and exactly why every new HC gets forced to keep assistants from the previous regime.

It sounds like the question ticked off Jerry. I mean his response/tone seems a bit emotional/defensive. In his defense, after you sort through some of the BS about coaches' dead money, he did say he could extend MM at any time.

This confirms what many have said about how they run this team year-to-year with little or no progressive planning. It is also why we are in a mess with Dak's issue.

Jesus h. This has been a terrible offseason for Jerry with sound bites. The team is worth 9 billion dollars, if the team needs a coaching change (not saying they do btw) money shouldn’t be an issue.

True salesman **** to try and pull on the heart strings of America btw lol

"Most of America gets up and they don’t have it guaranteed in front of them. You’re going to write what you’re going to write, but when you ask me about not extending him, my answer is that most of America doesn’t have anything guaranteed down the road. Most folks don’t have guarantees."

"I’ve had coaches in their final year before," he said, pointing to McCarthy’s predecessor, Jason Garrett, as an example. "I just am comfortable like this. There’s nothing that keeps me from extending him next week. Or during training camp. So, it’s not fait accompli that he’s going to coach this year without a contract (extension). I didn’t want to get into it as this particular time. We’ve had other contracts come up that we haven’t extended. No reason other than I wanted to manage it that way.

"You’ve got a very significant problem in the NFL with dead money for coaches. And it’s because you’ve got extended contracts, to where if you let somebody go, you’ve got to pay off their contract. It’s gotten to be so much of an issue that you can decide if you want to do what you do this year and reshuffle the cards next year with them. There’s nothing that says I won’t be extending those coaches next year. They’re all good coaches. Obviously. That’s just the way I do it.

"I’m doing it, to be very candid with you, because we have such a problem with dead money with coaches in the NFL. So, that’s what I’m trying to avoid."

Obviously there is more to it but an owner worth north of 10 billion frets over dead money owed to coaches, and some of you think the last 30 years is bad luck.
lol there is no dead money with coaches, that $ doesnt come from the cap, it comes from the owners pocket!
Jerry is just that cheap to worry about a few million.
If he had hired a new HC and let mike go he would have had to pay the new HC, and pay mike for this season.
Thats too much for him, so we have the same guy who failed in playoffs for 3 years in a row, leading the team again!! lol

Just wasting the year imo.

if the team needs a coaching change (not saying they do btw) money shouldn’t be an issue.............. it shouldnt be unless your a scrooge like Jerry lol.

I used to think a coach would be the difference, but with Jerry and Stephen it just doesn’t matter! They’re both completely useless and the wheels will continue to spin in the mud. This team is going nowhere with them.

I'm pretty sure he said "faint in company" when he was having a quick fever dream about the last woman he knocked up while filled to the brim with Johnnie Walker. The media relations people just edited it to make it sound like he's sophisticated.

Why not base McCarthy’s job on performance instead of league dead money averages

Translation..............."I aint paying Fat Mike one single penny to sit his fat arse on the couch"

Translation

I'm firing Mike at the first missed TO:thumbup:

Business owner worrying about his bottom line. Shocking. Shocking I tell you. How about you all stop trying to make a huge issue out of every little thing. You will live longer. Ae all know Jerry bought the Cowboys to make money, not for his love of this franchise. Unfortunately he loves the attention almost as much as the money. It is what it is. We just have to wait him out.

All we can do is sit back and hope for the best. And maybe watch the games from behind the couch. Gonna be some ugly games to get through.
