Ok, I'm glad he's gets a shot to play. Who does he replace? Do we have to cut someone? Also, do he and Irving play the same position or can they be on the field at the same time?

This guy has been a complete waste of a pick to this point. I'm hoping we get to enjoy some rewards for taking him and sticking with him, even if it's only for a short time.

Wouldn't exactly refer to Gregory as a shiny new toy. He's one of those toys you were excited about when you first got it but it ended up not being as much fun as you thought.

The one that you want to play with so bad but says "Batteries not included" on the side lol

Great way to put it with Christmas around the corner :muttley:

I was thinking more along the lines of being really excited to play with your new toy only to find out that "some assembly may be required" ;)

Because I'm in the Christmas mood ...
(To the tune of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer)

Gregory the hashed pass rusher
Was Jerry's shiny toy
Based on college production
You would swear he'd make some noise (on the football field)
Goodell and all his henchmen
Used to laugh and call him names
They wouldn't let old pothead
play in any football games
Then with two games left to clinch
Jerry came to say
"Randy with your head now clear
Provide a pass rush teams will fear"
Now all the Cowboys fans love him
As they shout out with glee
Gregory the hashed pass rusher
lead us to a Super Bowl victory!!!

Yeah, yeah, don't quit my day job. :)

Anyone know how long that process will take? What are the chances of him playing the last 2 games, then playing well and then playoffs start and he's suspended?

That would really be a bummer
The appeal is decided upon whenever the league wants.

I suspect if we play the Giants the appeal would be denied the day before that game and the suspension would begin then. But I do have a cynical view of Goodell's relationship with Mara.

Thank you. :clap:I get tired of all this moaning about the unfairness of the NFL's weed policy like the NFL snuck it in its rule book unbeknownst to players.

Weed is illegal in the NFL. It has been for the longest time. The NFL has not changed its policy. Until it does, players must stay off weed or learn how to beat the system.

If they don't, they only have themselves to blame.

Now, go smoke some offensive linemen and quarterbacks, Gregory.

A rule is a rule, and if that's the condition of employment, it should not be broken.

However, other than it being illegal in most states, what is the NFL's justification for being so punitive or even testing for it? I thought I read somewhere that the NBA and MLB don't test for it, and they seem to be fine on that front.

Gregory reminds me of my new motor in my boat...

Spent all this money(Gregory draft picks), put it in the water and it ran for 3 mins (didn't do jack in 2015) , because some idiot did not make the proper adjustments to the new valves(Can't stay clean). Took it back had it fixed and haven't put it back in the water yet(Rehab). Afraid to put it in the water for fear I'll find other issues( Waiting for the 1-year suspension).

I hope he can do something positive for us going forward, he has that raw ability but so does everyone lucky enough to play in the NFL. We need him and nothing would make me happier than to see him succeed(I've been in a similar situation in my life). Rooting for you Randy! Hope you can give us some pass rush in the stretch run.

I agree with the person who said since players know it's banned in the NFL, they're foolish to use it. That said, I don't think the NFL should ban it. It's not a performance enhancing drug. I think the NFL should leave it up to the individual teams to set their own marijuana policies.

If that's done, there definitely will be no policy at all, lol. The teams don't care. No one cares except image conscious league execs. Heck, fans only care because they are told to care by the NFL.

Pot is a performance inhibitor. Teams will care.

I've always said that Gregory was a Jerry pick. Garrett didn't like the pick.

Sometimes Jerry hits on a Jerry pick and sometimes he fails. Leary was a Jerry signing as a UDFA. Jerry was more excited that year about Leary than any of the draft picks.

Gregory was obviously a miss. Even if he plays, missing a year makes it a less than desirable pick. I remember the story that Jerry had talked to Gregory multiple times prior to and during the draft.

I tend to think the Jaylon Smith might have been a Jerry pick also.

Why does it have to be all or nothing? If anything its been shown with Manziel that Jerry doesn't force the issue to get his way unilaterally.

I don't know. And, really, I don't care. Players know what is expected of them. They have to fulfill those expectations if they want to play in the NFL.
When the rule changes, then they can smoke all they want to. As of now, they have to abide by the present rules.
