I don’t understand how the amount of money Jerry has, has anything to do with salaries. If there wasn’t a salary cap then I’d get it but not wanting to over pay for a player to keep a half way decent roster together is different. It’s not like Jerry is pinching pennies out of his personal bank account by not signing players to ridiculous contracts.

The salary cap threat is a tool the owners use to keep the players in line ........ its not something they cannot deal with ...... the Commanders have proven that for 20 years straight and have not had to "pay the piper" yet.

And perhaps that’s why they suck so bad. We were in quite a bind for awhile ourselves, perhaps that’s why Jerry isn’t throwing around money like he used to.

No they suck so bad because just like us they have an idiotic egomaniac as their owner.
Hey!
I have a wise and semi-intelligent egomaniac as my owner.
He collects spin-art!
So nyah.

Bottom Line ......... When the owners start honoring contracts ....... I will expect the players to do it.

When they release people still under contract they claim its just business ....... turn about is fair play.

I just see guys trying to get paid while they can. But different situations between Gordon and Elliott.

I could be wrong but isn’t Gordon on his rookie deal as well? I know it’s his final year but rookie contract right?

I agree with you, this was an ill-advised move against a family and team that has been nothing other than exceedingly supportive and patient of this player. a terrible way to repay them.
Well one thing for sure there is always drama with our team. The positive is we get to see what this Pollard kid is all about.

Sure the guarantees are low because the NFL is a violent sport with loads of injuries. The fact is that pro football is a volunteer sport and
no one is forced to play it for a living. Very few people get fully guaranteed salaries.
Very true. Other than the lineman no one takes the beating the RBs do esp if they are a bell cow. Gurleys money is probably where it is at so someone will need to given. Hopefully soon.
