Jerry Jones: “Tony played the best game of his career.”

The fact that no matter how good Romo plays, some will find fault was never more evident than it is today.

I like Romo but I am not the biggest Romo fan, not even close. As a matter of fact I just told my wife yesterday that I don't think we will win a SB with Romo.

But you people that always seem to find fault with him have picked the wrong day to do so.
You will have to wait for another day or pick one in the past.

Any QB at any level that throws for over 500 yds, and 5 TD's, .. puts up 48 points with a QB rating of over 150 should NEVER lose that game.
Plus his scrambling and buying time was huge today, ... for first downs and the Witten touchdown. Manning nor Brady would have survived behing our OL today.

It is never one play or one players fault. Especially in a sport where there are 22 guys running around every play for 60 minutes.

Wilson and Brady both threw picks to end their teams chances at the end.

It's not like Romo is the first or the only one to ever do this.

Our defense, or DC, are the reason we lost this game today.

48 points should never lose.

But go on and ignore the obvious, and just blame Romo.

Post of the year!

Romo had his usual escapability and deep accuracy today because he's now fully recovered from his injury. This was reported by Ed Werder before the game I believe.

That is the only reason we were in this game and had a chance to win.

Watching this guy Kaepernick throw the ball, the 49ers wish they had themselves some Romo with that defense.

I find it hilarious that even in his best game ever he chokes.

Romo played great but yes he choked in the end.

Romo is judged in the clutch moments of games and he once again showed why he has the perception that he does.

Romo is judged that way by folks who know jack about football. Romo and his offense put up 48pts, they did their job. The D lost this game. Folks who played the game knows the deal.

Read this:

In a vacuum, that post is right. But Peyton's team also gave up 48 points. At that point, it's all about not making mistakes, which Tony made at the end of the game.

I would say generally, when you score at least 30 points, your defense should handle the rest of the burden. But when it's a high scoring shootout like this, one of two things happen: one team chokes first, or the other team runs out of time.

Seriously?

Flip over to NFL Network, ESPN, or NBCs football night and you'll see plenty of people who played the game that believe he chokes games away.

Anybody who blames Romo for the lost don't know anything about football. period.

so let me get this straight, although he had a great game we should let him off the hook for that int at the end?

Man, Matt Schaub is awful.. Romo could feast in this Kubiak offense...

Just wondering, where do you think Dallas would have been in this "high scoring shootout" without Romo?

Once again, I am not the biggest Romo fan, but today is not the day to single out Romo as the reason we lost.

It only makes it look like you are pushing your own agenda and know nothing about football.

I'm sure that is not your intention, but blaming Romo for the loss today shows a very shallow understanding of football.

Does he regret that last pass, I'm sure he does, .. but everyone made mistakes today. You pick his at the end because it was when it was, and that is obvious and easy to point out.

But if you look at the entire game and not just that one play, .. that is not the reason we lost.

He did, the blame is not on him. Im not the biggest Romo fan, but today he was fantastic.

A team that scores 48 should NEVER lose, period.

No way. Everyone knew this was going to be a shootout. Our D is pathetic and a Tied game with 2:30 to go is a situation all the great QBs feast on. Romo had a chance to shut the critics for at least a week. But one bad decision adds more fuel to the choker label he has created for himself. He should not be absolved.

If it was a 21 - 21 multiple turnover game at that same point in the 4th quarter, would the outcome have been any different?

Romo (and Dallas) did go in to New Orleans vs the unbeatable, undefeated (and future SB Champ) Saints and win. Romo played well then.

Romo (and Dallas) did go into Indy vs the unbeatable, undefeated (and future SB Champ) Colts and win. Romo played well then too.

Why can't we separate the two things?

Romo played all time great for 99% of the game. We got that. That's not the problem.

The problem is not finishing the game the way he started it. It just harkens back to the game against the Commanders where he had a chance to win the game, but we all know how that turned out.

He should not get absolved for costing us the game. We can complain about the defense, and yes the defense does suck greatly and if it just made a couple more stops, we would have won easily. But when both teams give up 48 points, it becomes a race to not mess up.

However, I do think that even with the Romo int, the game still could have been won. For that, I blame the coaching. The team is all kinds of messed up.

I also do think this team could win with Romo if the team resembled SF.

Good point...

No...

They just want something to talk about. Romo does good, they hide in the mountains, until he does bad.

Why does Romo have to play phenomenal all the time? Why can't the blithering defense stop a team after he helps bring his team back to lead 48 - 41?

If Romo doesn't throw the int but we still lose to the Broncos, are we here blaming Romo? I know I'm not and I don't even like the guy.

You must be thinking if the cowboys had let denver score that romo would have answered in 1 minute time. But your complsint is that Romo cant finish games. So if the coaches decided to let denver score - then give romo the ball we could have won - even though you have pointed out that ROMO COST THE TEAM THE GAME just like he did the last time against the Commanders. So, the coaches are to blame for trying to stop the other team for scoring.....because they should just know to let denver score and after that the guy who keeps costing the team the game in crunch time will miraculously win by getting the ball in desperation crunch time.
