How would Jerry know what's coming unless he is asked? How do you know he "wanted them"? If Jerry backpedaled on answering questions he would be accused of covering up or being chicken livered. What did you expect him to say, "Please don't ask me these type questions, I defer to McCarthy, Stephen, the Pope, my therapist"? The First Amendment applies to Jerry as well - let alone he owns the team and is the GM, although a figurehead. Jerry annoys me at times as well but live and let live, speak and let speak. Poor coaching staff and player acquisition decision making is more concerning than responding to stereotypical team related questions from the media. I wish Jerry never would have decided to also be the GM but I can't thank him enough for rescuing this franchise that was in a financial and competitive playing death spiral in the late 80s.
