Following an embarrassing loss (on national\worlds tv), the Head Honcho attends a late-week practice...to try and gauge where his team's head is at.

Well Jerry was hoping his team could stay on the field with the 49ers. He got his answer.

Turns 81 tomorrow...Jones still has the juice and the moxie.
in the 90's thats great. But today, thats bad. the game is different, and we have free agency. Back then it was great to be a Maverick because u could sign whomever u wanted. No salary cap. He hasn't been good since the cap era. I question if he really wants to win a SB unless its under his terms. I think he rather burn the place to the ground doing it his way and failing, rather than winning a SB and giving the cred 2 the staff. See, even if he fails, he wins. He makes so much revenue regardless. In his mind, he IS winning and he really thinks thats winning. Its validation that he is a football mind.

Super Bowl!

Actually, this makes me feel like Monday night will be another disappointment.

"...and that's the play Coach Broyles ran when Jimmy and me were on the Arkansas national championship team. It worked then. It will work now. Am I right? Sure I am right. Did I tell you Jimmy and me played on the Arkansas national championship team? That was when football was football. We were tough back then. None of this PUP and IR crap. We suited up and banged heads with cracked ribs and torn calf muscles. These guys are soft. I would toughen them up but I am only the general manager, right? And did I tell you Jimmy and me won a national championship when we were at..."

Will Coach Jones make an appearance this week?

Every time he involves himself on this level, with the players, it has the opposite of his intended effect.

I try not to bash Jerry, being he's an elderly man. But he apparently doesn't learn.
