We found out on Sunday night that we’re not good enough and we’re going to have to hope that Dak makes us better.
That’s a fair assessment. And while he might not make us good enough for a championship I think he will make us better.

Unfortunately there appears to be some better teams and QB’s out there.

Prescott played poorly in week 1 as well. Most teams didn’t play their starters in preseason. Not really an excuse .

Tampa is also best defense we played until Egirls. I’m not sure we beat Tampa in any scenario.

All of you Dak lovers use the first game of the season to present Prescott's ineptness as a single game happening.
He played TERRIBLE against every team that made the playoffs last season(with the exception of the Geagles and Pats) such as the Chiefs, Raiders, Cards, Niners etc.
Dak has been sucking it up now big time the last 3 seasons where he is 1-13 (Excluding the Geagles) vs teams that made the playoffs.
So STOP referring to the week 1 game as you are insulting our intelligence!!!

Dak has to play the same offensive approach that Rush played in his first 4 games: rely on the run with some RPO's and high percentage pass plays and let the defense guide the team. Both he and Moore have to stop the air raid show as that does nothing but tally stats and this team needs to tally playoff wins.

First of all I’m not a Dak lover. I’ve often been critical . And even in this thread stated he played horrible against Tampa.

But I suppose anyone who doesn’t align with the Dak Trolls appears more supportive which I’d argue most Cowboy fans who are more in the middle do.

"We're a better team than we were five weeks ago," Jones told 105.3 "The Fan" on Tuesday morning. "We have improved the right way. We've done it with repetition, we've done it with young players. We've done it with players that have worked in tot he kind of things the coaches want them to do. We've had a lot of depth that has gotten a lot of reps. We're a better team than we were in that lost against Tampa, period."

Jerry just applied the pressure for Dak to elevate this team whether he intended to do that or not. With the defense playing as well as it has been and the offensive line playing better than expected, all eyes will be on Dak going forward.

I also think we found out that coaching and the decisions they make matter.

- Not taking the time to review a spot at a crucial point
- doubling down on that and rushing into a play that doesn't match with personnels strengths.
- deciding not to continue to protect the qb with run, even when it's working, and deciding to let him air out.
- late adjustments

All of these contributed to the loss. Teams are fairly even talent wise due to parity. It's execution and consistency on the players part that separates the good from bad. Much of that falls on coachings shoulders.

I can’t guarantee how our OC will dial this up. And how often Prescott can audible out. They both will need to held accountable.

And while we’ve had some success in the results with Rush we can’t argue this 27th ranked offense is sustainable against the better offensive teams moving forward in the season and beyond.

Sunday night is a perfect example that there will be games we’ll need a greater offensive production . I’d even argue that if we’d had greater offensive production in some of these wins in Rush stretch that the games might not have been as close.

So in that respect , yes, Prescott does need to do more than Rush has. I’d like to see this offense rise up to closer to middle of the pack in rankings to complement this defense if we seriously want to make a push come end of season.

I am interested to see if the formula or game plan changes. Hope they stay run or even go run heavy and let Dak hit shorter passes to get warmed up. Play action and take some shots later.

90% of the time his passes short ones.
Just ask CeeD.......
For the ones he throws long the DB has to have fallen down for Dak to decide after 5 seconds(If he doesn't get sacked) to throw the ball that far.....:omg:

McCarthy has proven into his third year with the Cowboys that he’s a terrible decision maker. Whenever he’s eventually fired, that will be the main reason.

All true with what Jerry said.

Wish he would also say the coaches and front office dropped the ball since there was no excuse why not to play the 1st string Offense all Preseason. It would have helped the team knock off any rust, know who to start or who not to start, plus would have had the Oline and receiving crews rolling better instead of playing as poor as they did Week 1 to start the season.
The first game of the season against Tampa Bay became the last preseason game.

The big WR at TCU.

Don’t know anything about him, but what I do know is that Jalen Tolbert has been a huge disappointment and has bust written all over him. Can’t believe we couldn’t come up with a better receiver in what was a strong WR class. We lost two good receivers in free agency and our top free agent signing has been injured and Tolbert can’t even get on the field.

Yea, all Dak lovers say ;

He played terrible
He’s not Elite or Top 10
He has a defense which isn’t an excuse anymore
He can’t win with this defense time to move on.

Take your Dak trolling crap and cram it
