Twitter: Jerry Jones: Don't rule out a contract extension for Mike McCarthy

Amazing, how much of an idiot can Jerry be … already screwed the team extending Dak and now considering MM. No wonder it’s been a generation removed since Dallas was even in a NFCCG.

I don’t see this team making any progress towards any championship at all, beginning with the FO.

I told you we should've lost, but people were saying, it's never good to lose. It's good to lose when it comes to Jerry, because that man will never ever get it. As long as we're winning, he thinks we're going to the Super Bowl. He needs someone in his family desperately to take his title away from him and give him a mandatory retirement. This guy has stolen the Cowboys glory, and single handily crashed and burned this team and the fans.

It's not about finding a winning coach. Jerry Jones hates to pay coaches. McCarthy has shown that he's willing to work for Jerry for one of the lowest coaching salaries in the NFL. Jerry would love to extend him at his current pay .

Haha he's not fooling anyone. Even McCarthy himself knows it's over and he's probably glad

To be clear I think both extensions are ill advised, but in a way it makes sense because he's already screwed the pooch with Dak, might keep them together.

If Mike gets this rag tag team competitive in the remaining games with all the injuries, I can absolutely see Jerry doing this. We’ve seen how teams prior to Mike pooped the bed when injuries mounted. Like I said in another thread Mike somehow gets chicken soup outta chicken poop out with injured rosters throughout his career.

Run back Zeke, Dak ... might as well run back Mike. These types of wins and run-backs is actually the new Dallas Cowboys superbowl. LOL. Jerry will probably cry if he runs back Mike.

"I don't think that's crazy at all. This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there and done that. He has great ideas. We got a lot of football left."

Translation (from Jerrynese to English): He's history.

In the past, Jerry had quite nice things to say about other coaches that he hasn't retained.
He favors being positive until the bitter end. Don't be surprised if it happens again!

I think several people have been in Jerry's ear. There has been lot of press that McCarthy is a really good HC. I think he is a good HC but I also think the offense needs a revamp and we need a young hot OC. I would also like to see Al Harris as the DC. I think that happens if McCarthy stays.

Someone please remind Jerry our offense scored two touchdowns.

If you want significant changes in this organization, you better be hoping to lose every game left on the schedule, otherwise Jerry will use the injuries as an excuse to bring the band back again....
Yep, every game we win Jerry will see of proof we are headed in the right direction...................If we beat the Giants, which I think we probably will, that will be a 2 game winning streak !!!

Jerry going to pimp that winning streak for all its worth:thumbup:

Should the Cowboys win 3 more games, we can look forward to Jerry's upbeat January post season presser: "This is a coach who finished12-5 in '21, '22 and '23. We were just decimated with injuries this season. So, (big smile) welcome back, Miiike."
Yep, I can already see the "injury excuse" getting warmed up in the bull pen............Only way I am happy with this is if the alternative is Zimmer.

You give me a choice between Fat Mike and Zimmy for head coach, I got to go with Fat Mike.

So, if that is the options we are looking at, yeah just run it back.

Well, it's Fat Mike or Zimmer. Who ya want?
That is like asking if somebody wants a firing squad or the gallows, LOL

I will go with Fat Mike if these are the absolute only two options, at least he has a ring (thanks to prime A-rod), but a ring nonetheless.
