A game that was 10-9 going into the 4th qtr and it was 13-9 with 7 min left. Jerry’s now selling snake oil that this team is not as putrid as it smells.

Our offense scored 20 points against a defense then ranked 18th overall and 32 against the run. We had two TD drives - one was 80 yards and the other was 44 yards after a fumble we recovered. The two kickoff returns skewed the score quite a bit at the end.

Forget the 82 year old salesman. This is a bad football team. And he’s the architect.
Yes sir! He’s also the optimist that probably believes we have a chance at the playoffs….

I’ve always liked Mike but I don’t like his offensive staff. If he were to stay we need new position coaches specially Oline coach. I also don’t like that he’s kept a lot of Kellen’s crap for Dak, curls etc.

Jerry’s not giving MM a new contract. Relax,

Jerry’s an idiot for having multiple weekly radio appearances, and can’t say “no” or simply, “I’m not talking about contracts right now for coaches or players because we have a game in two days.” That wouldn’t garner headlines, tweets, tv, radio and podcast segments. It would be a nothing. Jerry the fool doesn’t like “nothings”. The dude craves attention like a spoiled 3 year old.

So while I don’t think he’s going to extend/re-sign MM, I think he’ll do something worse like hire Kellen Moore.

LOL. If he extends McCarthy, that might be it for me barring some miraculous run from here.
Same here. I think I may just stop following until Jerry dies. There would just be nothing to look forward to. It's almost like he makes football decisions to spite fans.

I'm pretty sure this is nothing but Jerry showing some respect for a lame duck coach, and McCarthy is as good as gone come January unless he completely does the improbable and gets this team into the playoffs.

Regardless I still think this is more of a Jerry issue than a McCarthy issue though. This team has to make some fundamental changes in their approach to roster building for any HC to have a realistic chance. You can't just expect to hit on all pro players in the draft year after year.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he's not ruling out a contract extension for head coach Mike McCarthy.

"I don't think that's crazy at all. This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there and done that. He has great ideas. We got a lot of football left."

Please jetty.

McCarthy won a Superbowl with Rodgers in his prime. Doug Peterson won a Superbowl with a backuo in Nick foles.

Jerry is just playing mind games with everyone now. I'm not buying it; Big Mike should be packing his bags for a move out of Texas in January.

jerry loves delays.
loves the noise it creates.
not surprising at all.
he delayed extending lamb.
he delayed extending dak.
now big mc.
he loves the chatter.
if he could find a way w/out losing our draft slot...he'd delay turning in the card in rd1.

Should the Cowboys win 3 more games, we can look forward to Jerry's upbeat January post season presser: "This is a coach who finished12-5 in '21, '22 and '23. We were just decimated with injuries this season. So, (big smile) welcome back, Miiike."

I’m fully convinced that whoever the next HC here is will not succeed.

This roster needs to be addressed in an aggressive way (on top of serious luck) for that to be possible, and they are neither willing nor capable.

We are looking at another 2-3 bad seasons, then hopefully they realize that they need someone else to run things properly, and the rebuild can begin.

They think they are better than they are, can get by with dated schemes, and that one draft is going to fix everything.

Jerry just wants the sports media to talk about MM and the Cowboys.

I don't see how he extends him after this mess of a season when he didn't extend him after 3 straight 12 win seasons.

Come on now though. Missing your starting 60M QB, your starting very good TE, starting #2 WR, and both starting very good guards, what did you expect against a 7-4 team? To light up the scoreboard?

That was a very well-coached game. The only hope was that the defense would play well and the O would keep it close and not make mistakes, and that's exactly what happened.

As for Mike, Jerry was asked by the hosts if it was crazy to suggest he could be back if they won enough remaining games, and Jerry said no, it's not crazy. What was he supposed to say, yes it's crazy, he's as good as fired right now?

I can't stand Jerry either, but there are enough legitimate things to hate him for. What he said today wasn't one of them.
