Let's see, he took the horrible Giants to multiple Super Bowls, then he took the horrible Patriots to a Super Bowl, then he took the horrible Jets to the AFC championship game, then he took the horrible Cowboys WITH QUINCY CARTER to the playoffs....
Not quite sure where you were during all that.
Parcells was a good coach, but a horrible person.. try to find someone to say a nice word about him.
If Scott Norwood doesn't shank a very reachable field goal in the SB, handing the Giants the win, Parcells is just one more coach with a single ring.. He took credit for Lawrence Taylor, who was a guy that Ray Perkins drafted. Taylor was a game changer, and Parcells rode his coat tails.. I will say that getting to another superbowl with the Pats, and getting to the AFC championship game with the Jets puts him in the coaching stratosphere.
Thats fine.. no coach makes it without his players.. but...
Parcells left the Giants with almost no warning, and left only after Bellicheck left for another head coaching job.. Had he done the right thing, the Giants would have had Bellicheck as a head coach... Bill knew this and screwed the Giants.
Bill agreed to coach Tampa.. then changed his mind.... another bad guy moment.. who cares that this left Tampa in the lurch.
He then went to New England, when they had no where to go but up, and had a lot of draft picks coming their way... He then left there, and tried to go to the jets.. and when he wasnt allowed to, orchestrated some baloney where bellichek was the coach in name only... Again, no where to go but up.. the jets won like 3 or 4 games the year before him, but were a much better team than the record.
Bill's genious was going to teams that had bottomed out, so he could take credit when they marginally improved... Came to Dallas, then Miami... mission unaccomplished.
I used to work at a gas station in high school and he would come in.. a bigger jerk you couldnt find.. .more than once he was the victim of the empty oil can trick.
