I'm convinced a certain poster here is Spalding Jones. No one can possibly defend someone so inept at his job (GM) to this extent and get so bludgeoned in the process. It's like watching a car wreck you know is coming, you just can't turn away even though you should to avoid the gore that's sure to follow.

Well Spaulding does love his Gramps.

I think your theory is funny but you could be right. Who knows?

Jerry gets emotional when talking about Manziel. He just feels bond with that player.

There's an obvious reason for that. Johnny Football's a wildcatter, an improviser on the field. And he has succeeded doing it.

Jerry sees himself in Johnny Football.

Problem is Jerry's simply not successful at wildcatting anymore, and hasn't been for 20+ years.

I'm not sure Manziel has what it takes to succeed in the NFL, remains to be seen. He hasn't had to play a pro-style offense ever, really. Cleveland either has to hope he can convert into that type of player, or they're going to have to re-taylor their offense to fit his skills.
