I'd LOVE it.
but I'll believe it when I see it.
if they do move on from JG.....IF.....the new guy should not be asked to inherit a staff.
which is why I think this f/o will screw it up even if JG were to be fired.
hope I'm wrong.

Super Bowl appearance with a loss this year with Garrett and Garrett signs extension

-OR-

We display pitiful effort the rest of the season and Garrett is released and Jerry hires Riley?

Which would you choose and why?

There is no reason to release Garrett. This is the last year of his contract. They can move in another direction without having to fire Garrett. That is what will happen IMO.

Is Lincoln Riley ready/willing to transition to the NFL? He won't be coaching a bunch of young recruits worried about their scholarship. Harbaugh, Coughlin and Jimmy are the few successes who have made the transition. The failure list is long and highly esteemed.

I like the idea of Riley. However to think he’ll come in and win year one without some growing pains would be a little high of an expectation. still he would have the tools to do good things on offense.

Good up and coming head coach..... and he’s not Garret. Win win for me

erod, he's had the best OL in college ball and has depth and excellent WR's. Not to mention he's had really good and undervalued RB's. The question isn't about helping the QB as much as the run game as that's really his forte and the reason Stoops brought him in.

I have little doubt he could help this offense but could he take it to the 30+ a game level because with this D, that's what's going to be necessary to even have a winning season. And who's going to be his DC, his DC from OU? Make that 38+ a game.
The DC this year has changed that. The dude from Ohio State is working miracles.

YESSSSSS!!! Lets keep our fingers crossed the Cowboys lose... I can't believe I'm saying that but mean it.. My pure lack of respect for Garrett as a coach has forced me into this position..

Pretty much mutual feelings about Garrett. I hope we win as much as possible, and I hate the idea of losing to Philly. But, this is one where winning is great, but losing may not be so bad if it means that we get a new coach.

I'm a patient chap. I'd be willing to give him time to adjust to the NFL level. Plus, he's young so he'd probably be able to learn quickly. Strangely, Ladoceur and Witten will probably be older than him if and when he takes over.

Like I said in another thread, I'll believe it when I see it.

I'd love to see him as HC. But at this point I'd be in favor of Pee Wee Herman.
Taking the team to see a movie with Pee Wee as the coach would instantly become a lot more interesting.

Didn't know that. Thanks for the update. Realistically that would make the odds of signing him remote. I would think a great college job would be better than an nfl job. Far less bs to have to tolerate.

Sounds good but slow expectations. Remember Jimmy's first year....1-15. Don't expect him to enter the NFL going 12-4 or 13-3.

He would be good for Dak as well as a positive mentor for Moore.

Maybe that's his delay in firing Garrett.........he will likely wait till the off season and after ou's season ends to address this. Would be a big name coach that Jerry would like.

If Riley comes in, Moore is history. He's not going to inherit any of this staff. He'll bring in his own people.

I don't know a whole lot about Riley but I will tell you If hes anything like what I've read/heard? I would be happy to have him.

Does anyone know who hes worked with as far as defensive coaches? I would be interested to know who he would have run the defense and what their system would consist of.
he sure seems to make QB's shine. I would welcome him...

He won't come here.

Who wants to be hog-tied to a meddling drunk and his inept son?

Nothing will change.........

No doubt -- if I were Lincoln Riley, I'd probably leave the country, just to get as far away from the Jones family as possible! If he joined the Cowboys as their HC, he'd end up in a mental institution or a drug clinic, just from having to deal with 'em. Just look what it did to JG! He used to be so smart -- now, he's just a clapper and a butt slapper pretending to be a head coach! Hell, players won't even high-five him anymore!
