I've suggested this in the recent past. It's something nobody seems to talk about. It's either Jerry's the GM or he steps down. What if he brings in a personnel "consultant" to basically do the GM job while massaging Jerry's ego?

Is this possible? I have no idea.

The problem you have with that is any guy worth his salt capable of building a winning organization wouldn't abide by essentially massaging another guy's junk. At least that's my take.

I see Will McClay is now some personnel guru around here.

What a few timely quotes from the team's media will do for one's reputation.

McClay is creditted for selling Jerry on Travis Frederick, Terrance Williams, and JJ Wilcox, in addition to finding George Selvie. Jerry apparently trust his instincts. He leapfrogged Ciskowski in the pecking order.

All I picture is smeagol (owner JJ) looking at his reflection in the water arguing with his alter ego Gollum (gm JJ) "We wants it. We needs it. Must have the precious". Gollum fires back,"JJohnson stole it from us and I must get back at the Jimster at the expense of the fans which is with me, me, me as the Master".

Cool. A LOTR reference on the Boys board. Yup. Admitted LOTR / Tolkien geek here. Mine from a while back in another thread comes to mind:

"I rather compare JJ to Smeagol / Gollum and like to think of the dialogue he has with himself as those two personalities...

Smeagol "So bright, sooo beautiful...We wants another Lombardi, my precious. Please, please we just wants to touch another one."

Gollum "Then fire that skinny, redhead and let's us get rid of his stupid processes."

Smeagol "But we likes stacking things on tops of things, precious."

Gollum "Nobody likes stacking things and stacking things doesn't gets us another Lombardi...gollum, gollum!!"

Smeagol "It doesn'ts? But Ginger says it'll be nice to us if we let's him stack."

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Again?

The Jerral example of not having a real structured plan of how things are achieved on the Pro football field..... is the weak mentality that is wrong with the Dallas Cowboys.

Troy hit the nail on the head - drove it home - counter sunk - with one stroke of the hammer....again.

Jerral "Glass Jaw" Jones always changes when the gloves come off.....again.

Not complaining but all it takes is the hot air to blow in a different direction....again.

The follow up story will be where he gives himself an A+ and fires two more assistant coaches lol.

Credited by whom?

Asking Jerry Jones to step down as the GM for the Dallas Cowboys would've been like asking JR Ewing to stop trying to claim Southfork...

Jerry's embarassed by his decision to relegate playcalling to Callahan, then public sentiment about Garrett's selection of Linehan getting good reviews. Whenever JJ's caught with egg on his face, he likes to make noise about answering to the "man in the mirror." Unfortunately, the reflection tells him to keep doing what he's been doing, otherwise things might change. It's a shame the guy in the mirror is just as full of hot air as he is . . .
