Blah, blah, blah....if my Uncle was a girl he'd be my Aunt.

Jerry has been at the forefront of the League and owners for at least 20+ years...he is getting in.
Anyone who is a big of football idiot as Jerry has been shouldn't disgrace Canton.

Maybe the bust will be with him pickin his nose.

The fact that guys like Gil Bryant or Tex Schramm aren't being discussed is disgusting. Jerry taking credit again for someone elses hard work....Just like when the Cowboys won Super Bowl XXX w/ Jimmy's team. But Jerry and Barry did it "Their way"

Whose team was Jimmy coaching in Miami?

Without the success Jerry had with Jimmy , Jerry would have been ran out of town.

There wouldn't be any Jerry history worth noting without the early success he had with Jimmy.
Didn't Jerry Jones hire Jimmy? I get being angry about the breakup, and about him making many bad personnel decisions the past 20 years, but you have to give him credit for hiring the coach who built a dynasty. Hiring a head coach from college with no NFL experience was very risky, especially back then.

Pat Bowlen has been the owner of a very successful team that has been to a bunch of SBs.

Having said that, just being an owner doesn't you a HOF candidate. I can't say Bowlen has been particularly influential.

Jerry has been.

I don't think that owners should be in the HOF. Very few of them impact the game on the field positively. George Halas? Yes - he was a coach, a founder of the league as well as an owner. Paul Brown? Yes, he founded two franchises, was a legendary head coach, and was one of the greatest innovators in how the game is played. Al Davis? Yes, he was an assistant coach, a head coach and a commissioner as well as an owner.

Jones has been a prolific owner, and a great businessman. But, to me, making himself and others money isn't a reason for him to be in the HOF.

NFL's annual revenue was $943 million in 1989. Today its $18 BILLION. So yeah without a doubt the NFL is in a better place now than it was before Jerry Jones. Now, is Jerry the reason for that? Most definitely not. But it is unquestioned the influence he has on the NFL and how widely regarded as one of if not the most powerful owner in the NFL. And its not coincidence that the massive growth of the NFL occurred with him being a powerful owner. You can hate him, hate his GM decisions, but in the NFL his is without a doubt a HOF owner.

Note: Jerry Jones is a HOF candidate as an owner, not GM.

Your right. That was a great decision which without Thatearly success would have most likely failed as the Cowboys were already losing money

And even a bigger reason why Jimmy should be in Ring of Honor .

Who cares after 20 years with a losing culture?
Unless I was on the payroll .

Are we hanging banners for #1 in revenue?

I understand that. The fact remains that putting JJ in the HoF is a bad joke.

In the world of the NFL ownership, on-field success isn't usually the deciding factor in terms of greatness. Look at a guy like Al Davis. A hugely influential owner who is a HOF but has never owned a team to win a SB.

Besides, even if you do factor in on-field results, Jerry Jones does have 3 SBs which is more than can be said about most owners.

Al Davis won 3 SB's as owner of the Raiders.

And owns the team caught cheating and disciplined for it twice. He should never go into the HOF simply because he has allowed a cheating culture on his team to go unchecked and has actually been antagonistic, not apologetic, about being caught.
I'd certainly tolerate Jerry cheating and Romo deflating the ball if it brought us more success.
Lol

It's not like Jerry has been a choir boy. He's a top less dancer away from screaming rape or abuse from being banned from the league not to mention being fined for having too many suspended players which could be considered looking for a competitive edge .

If Jerry can build a championship team without Jimmy then I'd be willing to consider inducting him.

Or if he was to resign as GM and name someone who could lead us to a championship .

Is that fair enough?
