If Jerry can build a championship team without Jimmy then I'd be willing to consider inducting him.

Or if he was to resign as GM and name someone who could lead us to a championship .

Is that fair enough?
He's not being inducted as a GM, so it's a moot point.

If this is about making money for the owners then he is in on the first ballot.

If this is about actual football WHICH IT SHOULD BE then they are out of their mother #@%£ing minds!

Doubt he'll get in on the first ballot. It's going to take him a few years. As I said in the other thread, I really don't care if he gets in or not. Has no impact on the Cowboys.

Then Dallas wouldn't have had the dynasty. Jimmy Johnson isn't being hired by any Dallas owner but Jerry.
That's a risk I'd be willing to take. You never know. Jimmy was being herald as a top prospect to go to NFL. Or Id given Tom a couple more years. He was going to draft Troy, already had Irvin and Herschel. Landry just needed a QB. He'd already taken 4 QB's to a championship game .

Bum Bright had better offers from Dr Jerry Buss, Lakers owner and Donald Carter , Mavs original owner, who'd have had a much more respectful and normally ran ownership.

And we had already had our own dynasty with 20 consecutive winning seasons , 10 championship appearances in13 years, 7 in a decade with 5 SB appearances in a decade . All still NFL records.

No, it wasn't worth selling our souls for Jerry.

Based on the above tweet my guess is Jerry has put more than enough money in more than enough pockets to get in.

Considering that Tex Schramm was working on the possibility of having Jimmy Johnson hired as DC to transition into the head coaching role when Landry would retire, I would say that you are wrong on that count.

You really think that? Ask yourself this...Is the league in better shape now than it was 27 years ago? I'd say it's not even close...how poor the quality of the league has become. It's not even football anymore. With all the rule changes...to the game and the way practices are being handled...It's not even professional football anymore. Players don't practice. Don't hit. Are over paid...and the quality of play on the field is @ an all time low. It's seriously got to a point I won't shell out 250.00 a year to watch on Sunday ticket. That I know for sure. It's become the WWE for all intent and purposes.

NFL is more profitable today than ever and as far as the rule changes, yes but then much of this is done to limit injury and stop players from suing them after their careers are done. As for the players do not practice or hit you can thank the players union that is what they demanded. Of course owners took blame for it

IIRC, Tex Schram was ready to hire Jimmy but couldn't bring himself to fire his friend Tom, jeri was most likely influenced by Schram to hire Jimmy and apparently Bum hated Landry and part of selling to jeri included Tom getting fired

Blah, blah, blah....if my Uncle was a girl he'd be my Aunt.

Jerry has been at the forefront of the League and owners for at least 20+ years...he is getting in.
How does that translate to wins on the feild?

He has taken the leadship NFL franchise and has completely turned it into the NFL laughing stock. We don't practice hard. Players know they have it made if they just tow the party line and say all the right sound bites. Camp cupcake never left...

Less not forget this is now 22 years..(and running) of a poorly run orginazation that hasn't even come close to getting back to the Super Bowl?

How is that HOF worthy?????

as a GM your right as an owner who has helped bring NFL football back to Houston and now Los Angles as well as other contributions that have been very profitable to the league it is a no brainer that Jerry would make the HOF as a owner

There are some ticked off people in Denver right now who think Pat Bowen was far more deserving than Jerry ever has been...
Well could be that jerry helped the nfl make more money, and that is the reason for the nomination.
I find it odd he got exe of year last year, now hof nom.

You are confusion roles Owner and GM. I don't think you will find a single person who will say Jerry Jones the GM should be in the Hall Of Fame. His contribution have been to the NFL as a whole not just Cowboys
