I doubt Jerry himself actually crafted that statement. With that being said, it was about as reasonable of a statement as one could expect.

We are very grateful to DeMarco Murray for his contributions to the Dallas Cowboys. He is a quality person, a very good football player, and a player that we wanted to keep.

We have great appreciation for his skills, and if there was no salary cap in place, DeMarco would be a Cowboy. This came down to an allocation of dollars within the management of the salary cap.

Obviously there is emotion involved in these decisions, but it is critical that there be must be discipline involved as well. If it were a question of having an open checkbook with no salary cap constraints, we all know things would have worked out differently.

It seems like something Stephen would write. Very to the point and unattached. I like the statement. Serves Murray right for them not to gloat over a guy that left for a team that was "about winning a championship." lol.

I believe that Jerry represented exactly what he believed about Murray and I think that sentiment probably holds true for the team. Sometimes you just can't have it the way you want it. That's just how life is sometimes.

He should take responsibility for the position we were in, no?

Bad cap management

Y'all kill me with this. Anybody who has been following this team knows this move was coming. The money Murray got is way too much for what he provides. By week 4 everybody would have forgotten ab this because our o-line is going to be providing gaping holes for Gurley

OK then Jerry, how is the team going to improve and please don't say the 27th overall pick.

Jerry wouldn't even be able to read that statement off a teleprompter as written. I'm sure he approved the message, but no way did he prepare the copy.

Gurley may not play until mid season anyways

I agree. All parties made the best decision they could given the circumstance, except for the Eagles who are overpaying in my opinion.

Mature JJ mixed with a little rambling JJ in the last paragraph.
