Man you have a lot of confidence in a front office that has been below average for many years.

Just because don't go to multiple threads saying the same silly negative statements over and over does not mean I have a lot of confidence in the front office... It just I am not a repatative negative person who seems to thinK... that we have no money to spend, can not help the team, that not overspending on FAs is a bad thing.

The mistake of being in a bad cap position than even the more successful teams in the league

Yeah we may be in a not great cap position, but that has nothing to do with re-signing Murray. Again, our cap could be in completely awesome shape and I don't think Murray would be back this year for the contract the Eagles just gave him.

And that would be good cap management.

I'm confused, isn't this how we wanted this team to operate for two decades now? This is the type of statement that's most of U.S. didn't exoect until Stephen officially started running the team. Now we complain that they are being more careful and more disciplined with the cap?

..and they just traded for a starting QB coming off 2 ACL's.

And that's what I can't get about the Eagles. Do they actually believe that Bradford is going to stay healthy? Has there ever been a QB in the NFL coming off 2 ACL surgeries that had a real good career?

He should take responsibility for the position we were in, no?

Bad cap management

lol.

It would have been stupid for Dallas to sign Murray for the amount the Eagles gave him. Heck, it was stupid for Philly to.

The team is in the best salary cap position it has been in for years. The only teams that are in better shape are the one's that have drafted like crap and have none of their own players to pay.

I was just going to reference this, WG. To those that think Jerry isn't completely changing the philosophy around VR, you simply aren't paying attention. Jerry said himself, last year, that it was the only time he cried when he cut a player loose (Ware). I knew from that moment going forward that the "loyal to a fault" Jerry was history and that he was going to start doing things differently. Is it the right way? The results will bear that out going forward. One thing is for certain: the way he was doing it before WAS NOT working. The whine and cheese crowd can throw their little 1000 keystroke pity party all day long. All I know is that in year one of the "new way of doing business" we improved our win count by four. I'm willing to give the Jones' (both of them), Garrett, McClay, Marinelli, and Linehan the benefit of the doubt over the pissy pants whiners with the internet bull horn all day long.

Mods,
Can I "like" this post 10 times instead of just once ?

I agree but they should be trying to improve the D, no?

Why restructure Smith?

Sorry, but I don't care if they were $50M under the cap ,they should not match that deal. Contracts like the one the Eagles have him are what puts a team in cap hell.

Now moved to name calling. It's funny to watch the negative nancies let their flag fly after having to sit on it for a few months. And all because the Cowboys didn't hand out a stupid contract.

You know, it's all just feelings, man...It's all about the feelings. I just want you to recognize the difference between what you feel and what's real.

I'm sure they will improve the D. They can spend the money if they think a player is worth the money.

Stephen Jones has said for months now that getting guys early in free agency isn't smart and causes teams to over spend. Not getting a guy in the first 3 days of FA should not come as a shock to anyone.

Statement from Jerry Jones on DeMarco Murray:

We are very grateful to DeMarco Murray for his contributions to the Dallas Cowboys. He is a quality person, a very good football player, and a player that we wanted to keep.

We have great appreciation for his skills, and if there was no salary cap in place, DeMarco would be a Cowboy. This came down to an allocation of dollars within the management of the salary cap.

Obviously there is emotion involved in these decisions, but it is critical that there be must be discipline involved as well. If it were a question of having an open checkbook with no salary cap constraints, we all know things would have worked out differently.

That's bull! The Cowboys aren't in cap trouble. They've chosen to use their resources in another area. They'll get good production and value by playing a younger less expensive back on his first contract.

On some other forums, eagles would have rather paid Shady. I'm telling you.

Murray will expose himself as the fraud that he is.

Screen shot this.

Man are you sensitive... We get it you're a fanboy. It's fine.

I am just not a repetitive negative person like you... And if you have read my rants in the past against Jerry and the coaches you would realize I am not OK with every move they have made in FA and the draft and I am sure I will not like every move they will make. So how about you stop the silly hyperbole and quit crapping the same stuff in so many threads.

Or as the owner of the site has posted before...

I posted this last year and it is quite apparent I need to post it again.

I have always tried to be fair to users on this site regardless of viewpoints. I have defended the right of the so-called homers and haters to share their opinions even when I personally disagree with them. I have done this because I hoped that giving everyone a chance to share their opinions would help everyone move on. Unfortunately, that is not happening.

Since the end of the season, I have given the haters a lot of time to rant and get it out of their system and they continue to rant and whine even more now. In almost every thread posted lately you will find the same users posting the same negative comments over and over again as if the rest of the users somehow missed the other 100+ threads where they posted the same thing.

It has become obvious that there are some users here who simply do not want to see anyone else even remotely happy about being a Dallas Cowboys fan. It is their mission to make sure everyone is as miserable as they are or else they will sabotage every thread they make in order to remove the desire of supportive fans to post on the site.

I am here to say that stops NOW!

Starting from this moment on, I will personally start banning users who post nothing but negative comments over and over especially in threads where they have no business being posted. If you do not like it, fine .. leave! There are plenty of other sites on the internet for you to vent your frustrations and promote your agendas. This site will no longer be one of those places.

The reality is that Jerry Jones is the owner and GM. Do I wish we had a real GM? Absolutely! After 15+ years of failure after failure, it's obvious that we need a real GM. That said, Jerry is not going anywhere. If any of you think that flooding this site with hate and anti-Jerry comments is going to have any impact on that, I sincerely feel sorry for you.

The reality is that Jason Garrett is the head coach at least for one more season. Am I happy with the way Garrett has coached this team? In some ways, absolutely! In other ways, not at all. That said, Jason Garrett is going to be here through next season and all the whining, moaning and ranting will not change that. Accept it or stop watching the Cowboys for the next year. You will be happier.

The reality is that Tony Romo is the quarterback at least for one more season. There are no guaranteed great quarterbacks in this year's draft and the few quarterbacks in the NFL that are better than Romo will not be released or traded by their teams. Not to mention, Jerry loves Romo so he's not going anywhere. Again, accept it or move on. You will be happier either way.

For now, Jerry, Jason and Tony are who we have and rather than dwell on the things we cannot change, most of us fans would like to focus on where we go from here.

I want to be very clear. I am not saying you can never criticize this team, its staff or its players. I am talking specifically to the people who post negative post after negative post in thread after thread.

I do not care if you have been a good or great user in the past. All that matters now is how you conduct yourself going forward. If I see someone with 20,000 posts trolling threads posting negative insults, shots and one liners, their account will be banned. There will be no favoritism so do not assume you are above this policy!

There will be no warnings on this. If I find a user posting negative comments repeatedly especially across multiple threads, the account will be banned.

For those of you who think you can just create another account, you should know the joining process has changed considerably since you joined the site. It can take several days or longer for new accounts to be reviewed and a large percentage are rejected. My advice is to accept this policy or simply stop posting!

I hope everyone understands and appreciates the goal behind this policy! CowboysZone is after all, a Dallas Cowboys FAN site!
