Probably right. I mean, it's not like we've ever picked as low as 27 and managed to get a player that has helped improve us.

We got Murray in the third. We got Hitchens in the fourth, we got free in the fourth, Oscar in the fifth, and a number of UDFA that have helped improve the team... Somehow we now have to narrow it down by not including the 27th in the first round because someone does not think that pick can help.

Translation; We've mismanaged the cap so badly it finally caught up to us. Thanks Jerry! Winning just became a little tougher.

Show me where I said that. Waiting. You're the one that keeps asking the same crap and complaining like we play a game tomorrow.

So we are going to get better on D with scraps. Ok

I don't often (or really ever) defend Jerry, but isn't not wildly overspending on a RB who is most likely going to decline very rapidly after a massive workload last season the very definition of disciplined cap management?

Man you have a lot of confidence in a front office that has been below average for many years.

It seems like something Stephen would write. Very to the point and unattached. I like the statement. Serves Murray right for them not to gloat over a guy that left for a team that was "about winning a championship." lol.

..and they just traded for a starting QB coming off 2 ACL's.

What mistake? They could have $20M in cap room and signing Murray to that deal would be a bad idea.

The mistake of being in a bad cap position than even the more successful teams in the league

As I posted in another thread. Once they released Ware last year, I knew things would be different going forward.

I like Murray, so I won't wish ill upon him, but I'm not wishing him well, either. Bye Felicia!

I was just going to reference this, WG. To those that think Jerry isn't completely changing the philosophy around VR, you simply aren't paying attention. Jerry said himself, last year, that it was the only time he cried when he cut a player loose (Ware). I knew from that moment going forward that the "loyal to a fault" Jerry was history and that he was going to start doing things differently. Is it the right way? The results will bear that out going forward. One thing is for certain: the way he was doing it before WAS NOT working. The whine and cheese crowd can throw their little 1000 keystroke pity party all day long. All I know is that in year one of the "new way of doing business" we improved our win count by four. I'm willing to give the Jones' (both of them), Garrett, McClay, Marinelli, and Linehan the benefit of the doubt over the pissy pants whiners with the internet bull horn all day long.
