Cowboys news: Jerry Jones adds fuel to the fire again, will talk with Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham figures to be one of the top available wide receivers when free agency begin on March 13, Though as he is free now, teams can talk.

Jersey Jerry, the dude knows how to get rich from the fans. Sometimes I really wonder if Jersey Jerry wants to build a team or an Empire?

But then I think JJ might just have a plan to get OBJ because he can contort and twist and do back flips and hit kicking nets and I think he might just be what the Cowboys need to try and catch the footballs coming his way from his QB. He helped Eli. Man, I really can't wait for this coming season, but I just have to.

Another splash signing to sell jerseys, I'd rather allocate those monies to other needs.....

OBJ runs excellent routes and if he can recover has plus quickness. He gets open quickly which is key for a WCO.

Man I just don’t get the obsession with OBJ. He was once really good but when you look at his stats the last 3 years, he’s a big name with just ok numbers.

Last 3 seasons OBJ played- his stats are really unimpressive
  • Avg 38 receptions per season
  • Avg 4 TD receptions per season
  • Avg 12.4 yards per reception
These are the stats of an average possession receiver.
He will be 31 next season- not super old but has had 2 major knee surgeries and his stats show he’s not as explosive as he once was.

Makes zero sense to me to spend big money on an aging possession receiver whose biggest asset at this point is his past, not his future.
Well to his defense he was playing in cleveland.

Gallup will be better next year man. He was playing with pain all year. Got his knee cleaned up and will be much better. OBJ when he first tore his ACL, people don’t know but that was basically a failed surgery. He was never close to 100% . Him tearing his acl a 2nd time they actually fixed a lot of issues from the first surgery. Just don’t break the bank for the guy. Him coming to Dallas would be the perfect situation for him.
He was a 2 1/2 on a good day prior to the injury....he wasn't even a 3 on several teams this season....it was a MONUMENTAL mistake made by Booger and Chuckles to give him a big deal after the ACL tear...those two idiots just do not know how to avoid car crashes. OBJ would be the final straw in ruining what is left of this team.

He always does that, Jerry always signs guys he never had a chance to get in the draft.
Then sign Chark the other LSU guy who they were interested in coming out of college.

That looks a lot like Gallups stats

You're using per season stats in seasons when he didn't play all of the games.
- Yes, his health is a risk, but you cannot compare to a possession WR or any WR using invalid stats.

21 catches in the 2021 season playoffs for 13.8 yards/catch and an 80.8% catch rate...
Ok…but he’s still almost 31 with obviously declining skills, two major knee injuries, and a bigger past than his future. And all of those stats in 2021 were before his last knee surgery and while playing opposite Cooper Kupp who was drawing the majority of coverage attention.

He was declining workouts with teams this last Dec because he clearly was not ready to play. Maybe he’s ready to workout this spring. But again, I don’t see how his price tag is worth what we will receive. There is better talent at a much better price available.
