Doesn’t mean any of us have to like it or not point out this ownership’s foolishness.Or buy tickets or merchandise which I haven’t done in over a decade now.

Obviously I fully understand JJs bull headed stupidity. But I refuse to just say “Oh well, that’s just the way it is” and not expect more. The Cowboys are my favorite team and always will be. Despite this owner.

There’s an ancient saying I adhere to: “I am only one…but still….I am one.”
I other words I may be just one voice, but it’s the only voice I have. I will always plan to use it.
Of course. I agree.

But we must always take into consideration Jethros ways when analyzing his actions and decisions .

Doesnt mean we can’t call it out and or expect more but when we ask why, we must look outside the normal box into what could motivate his mindset if we want to truly dissect the issues.

Tyler Scott in the draft and D J Chark in free agency. Hopkins in trade.
Hopkins you'd have to likely give up a high draft pick along with a new mega contract he is seeking...

Whereas Beckham is a FA that would not require giving up a high pick.

If he was a cheap option, sure. He is not. He is a brittle head case who wants to get paid like a reliable, available player. No thanks.

Overall I have no problems about Beckham pursuit - assuming we do our due diligence work.
What's the Pros and Cons ?

- He's a known playmaker with physical tools and an alpha male mentality ..and as a UFA, it would not cost us a high draft pick to obtain him.

- Even recovering from an ACL, it could likely be a bidding war for his services, and speculations where he could end up
(ala KC Chiefs?) ..and this is likely to be his last NFL contract.

- Even more so, he doesn't have to carry the burden for the receiving end, as we have emerging CeeDee Lamb on the opposite side.

- Time would tell if OBJ, whose had two major ACL injuries in his career) if he will bounce back to his previous playing mode.
And i'd wonder if the club would be insisting upon incentives clauses and opt-outs

Cons - his rumored contract demands last year were ridiculous.

Man I just don’t get the obsession with OBJ. He was once really good but when you look at his stats the last 3 years, he’s a big name with just ok numbers.

Last 3 seasons OBJ played- his stats are really unimpressive
  • Avg 38 receptions per season
  • Avg 4 TD receptions per season
  • Avg 12.4 yards per reception
These are the stats of an average possession receiver.
He will be 31 next season- not super old but has had 2 major knee surgeries and his stats show he’s not as explosive as he once was.

Makes zero sense to me to spend big money on an aging possession receiver whose biggest asset at this point is his past, not his future.
Agreed. Odell hasn't even broke 600 yards in a season since 2019. That was 4 seasons ago for crying out loud.

Shouldn't be on the table, especially for 7 figures a year (they already paid Gallup 7 figures coming off a knee surgery and look how that worked out)

I’m over Odell. I was fine with an in season addition. Thought it could be beneficial for both parties but now? I’m all set. We just saw an entire year wasted on Gallup in year 1 of his big extension because he couldn’t come back healthy. I don’t wanna do this same thing with obj.

Upgrade the position ? Yes but not with Beckham. This is the cowboy way though…..hope. Hope the guys off the scrap heap out produce the cheap deals they are on. Hope a rookie wide receiver can come in and pick things up seamlessly. Hope Gallup comes back ready to go. Hope a former safety can coach the line backers.

Booger and Chuckles have me this far (thumb and index finger 1/64th inch apart) from just rooting for another team....maybe 48 years is enough.

Goes well with our average RB and our average QB. Remember all in is stupid we want to be mediocre for 30 years

You're using per season stats in seasons when he didn't play all of the games.
- Yes, his health is a risk, but you cannot compare to a possession WR or any WR using invalid stats.

21 catches in the 2021 season playoffs for 13.8 yards/catch and an 80.8% catch rate...
