Not putting down Garrett this time, just saying it didn't take a genius to see what was wrong. The real genuis comes in fixing it. I don't need a bunch of cut and paste articles to know what our issues are. As far as KISS, unfortunately, with salary caps stupid people need not apply.
Yea, you have such a sweet and unbiased view that you don't even have to state a principal beyond failure undefined, and you are a genius. Sportsmanship was a huge part of being a fan and sport, that at least this person grew up when it really did matter and was a huge part of Texas athletics.
As to not needing 'cut and paste' trash to know how to solve...get off your own butt and start explaining your parameters, despite some of the function being provided in a discussion of what it was that is changing...oh, they could well be expanded in a discussion, but this shows an arrogance and insult as if you were demeaned by a discussion. I thought that YOU were a coach, and hence, an instructor in a Texas School. Something sounds arears by the stated stance...I'm sorry you feel so insulted by someone just not soaking in your negative vibes and understanding why Jerry, your target now, was without any clue. Sorry, that IS no clue.
Just where did you stand when Wade Phillips was rail headed out of Dallas and Jason Garrett given the reigns as the head of the team. I guess that things didn't evolve from the lockout forward...with a franchise standard changing either. Yea, you say that Jerry is a pretty ignorant football man...sorry, I see plenty of progress and valid reasons for support.
But where did you stand on Wade's time in Dallas? For real...or is that asking something demeaning to you as well...but today, he is an essential element in the function of the Rams. Currently, they have a pretty damn good defense...and yea, under Phillips. Now give me some piece of cast off, and say he is a good defensive coach, just not a head coach. Really? He is holding together about three very dynamic players by having a soothing and player supporting style of coaching. He holds those personalities together as a team. Wait, that is coaching ability...but Jerry didn't see that potential, when he decided to install Jason Garrett? No, that isn't why the wheels came off...dysfunction existed during the departure of Bill Parcells, that left high paid veterans that had a ton of performance limiting injuries. The team then pieced together a developing pattern for use of team resources...not just a bank account to look plush with.
The team started developing aggressively, how the team started to draft. Team developed talent was focused upon...I'm sorry if that is demeaning to yourself, to mention that...but it is team direction and some of the things that Jerry, the GM, was involved in as well. Jerry learned physical and impulse restraint, that was developed further by progressing scouting and drafting abilities. He watered the right roots...wait, that doesn't sound brash enough to allow vocal insult of the man as well. He had no victories during post season...which to someone wanting a quick whipping boy, plenty of fuel.
Well, two things now. First, Jason Garrett, had to develop and become a good head coach. Second, as with Wade Phillips returning to the development of a team's defense, it took time. What a concept, I know, from what is stated...that is a wasted discussion, much less when specifics of direction and statistics are added. That is more cut and paste, but validation on points of focus outside of just an emotion with an added don't insult with an outside source. You were already full of how to analyze. Well provide exactly how they are or are not accomplishing the transformation now, without relying on the previous basis for success in a Dallas franchise. Hence, a reliance upon the triplets. I guess all West Coast effectiveness and Norv Turner types of timing and route performance concepts is a waste as well...yea, go figure.
Sorry, when I was sent to the Air Force Academy, I was taught that a man's flight through life was powered by the strength of his knowledge...not ego. By the way, I was a Falcon there, and coached by Ben Martin. Know who replaced him there at the Academy...Bill Parcells. Yea go figure not having a clue.
I was discussing football, and don't need vindication nor seek that...but if you think you have locked up insight, look again...but I'm not your whipping boy either. The ball is in your court...huff and puff and blow the ball out of the court, or get real about some of what you bring to the table. Discuss and keep the negative stuff out, or leave me out of your realm of comment.
I think that Jerry has laid a strong opportunity on the table, for us fans to consume and interact with. I think that the Eagles, for starters, will be harassed as have the Cowboys, for having success now. The Eagles will receive destracting media attention, a quarterback controversy that will be highlighted, and a complacency by players somewhat content with having won it all. Everyone will be figuring out exactly how to derail Philadelphia now. That will play also.
This puts the Cowboys in a more aggressive position now, and adds to how the changes of this Cowboys group could actually overcome and succeed. Sorry, that is because of improvements that were involved with Jerry and the management team that changed: personnel, cap management, scheme, and coaching make up. Sounds to me, that Jerry has in fact done a lot, and built an even stronger franchise...but I'm sorry, if saying that is demeaning to yourself, since obviously one has some tremendous communicative skills to thwart those ideas.
