He dropped a few nuggets of knowledge on us unwashed.

20% roster turnover.

A "few" coaching changes. Maybe a positional assistant or two taken to the woodshed.

Pretty much what we should have all been expecting.

:banghead::banghead::banghead:If Garrett returns, I may sit out the next NFL season completely and get my football fix from college and high school. I doubt I could actually do it do to my love for this team but I may try.

No good franchise has a bad coach or GM. End of story!!!

Well you're only considered good until you win a super bowl in most cases. Many coaches had their doubters and many were on the hot seat until they won.

Well you better start getting ready because he isn't leaving. Zero percent chance of that, for good or worse.

And the reason JJ will never change things. He has fans like you convinced.

He doesn't have me convinced of anything. I see the warts and problems with the team and his mistakes as a GM just like you real fans. But again, I don't see anything he said in that article that was wrong or delusional. Just seems like the real fans are just repeating the same ole tired comments they always say when Jerry speaks.

This is good news. We have a better chance of winning next year by standing pat than by switching out the coaching staff.

"much closer to the Super Bowl than its 4-11 record indicates."

So really this doesnt actually say much. He thinks were better than 4-11, with romo back, and hopefully dez back to 2014 form.
And in that he is right.
But how much better is debatable.

That quote should scare the daylights out of any Cowboys fan. We are approaching another 2012 type of offseason. We have some significant resources. In 2012 we squandered it away with no impact. No building blocks for the future.

We're going to have a top 5-ish draft pick and plenty of cap space. It'd be great to have a GM who sees how flawed this team is and has a long term vision to his offseason approach. Somebody who will begin to lay the framework for life after Romo. So we don't have to wallow in NFL irrelevancy for another decade.

Instead we'll get quick fix band-aids. Something to "get us over the hump". We're so close. This soon to be 4-12 or 5-11 team.

Then when we absolutely have to turn the page and rebuild, we won't have the immediate resources we will have this offseason. Well dang our luck. We hear your complaints. I used to be poor at one time.

Close to what? Winning a Super Bowl isn't a one or even a two year proposition. It's a decade goal. Regardless of how talented a team is, its odds of winning a Super Bowl in any one year are slim. However, it can drastically increase its odds of winning one by making the playoffs consistently over, say, a ten year period. This team is not set up for that sort of playoff longevity. This year, we saw what happened when Romo missed any kind of time whatsoever, and he's not going to be around ten years.

No, Jerry. This team isn't close.

I have said before the jones boys dont build they fix, and it is always for the impending SB run.
So yeah no smart building for the future or long term.
Jerry thinks this is a 12-4 team, with a few needs, like a better bkup qb and RB.
