Yeah, that changes do not need to be gargantuan.

Better QB play, be it through Romo or someone else.
Better secondary play.
A turnover differential that isn't in negative numbers.

And you're looking at a playoff team in the NFC East.

McFadden did a nice job. But he's not the guy for this offense. At least not the starter. This team needs a guy who will chew up that clock with them 5-8 yards right up the gut we saw in 2014. That's what made teams take chances against Dallas and that's what had Dallas 2nd in the nfl in turnovers. Because teams knew Dallas was going to shorten the game. They played scared that they weren't going to get the ball back. We need to see that fear again in 2016. Imo rb is the top need

So if Romo stays healthy, we should make the playoffs? Okay well then why are you disappointed Jerry doesn't think we need a complete overhaul if you think we have a hope next season.

I think he is referring to the fact that we don't have the coaches or the depth of talent to sustain an injury to Romo. The Pats can lose Brady in the season opener and go 11-5 with Cassel because of outstanding coaching and surrounding talent. If we lose Romo, we are unable to score a single TD in most games.

So I guess the plan is to just hold our breath every time Romo gets sacked and pray he gets up. What happens if he doesn't?

They should have in that weak division.

Broncos............11-4
Chiefs...............10-5
Raiders.............7-8

If that is a weak division that the Broncos should automatically win in a cake walk, what is the NFC East?

And what type of trash team would be in the cellar of the NFC East?..........oh wait, that would be us:(

If Cam Newton went down week 2, the Carolina Panthers would be picking in the top 10 with us. That is an offense with below average receivers, an average running game that is built around a QB's abilities and that QB is having a tremendous season. The defense is very good but Cam Newton's tremendous season is what makes them elite and helps them win all the close games they have had this year.

The problem with this argument is that a rival in-state team just signed the QB we couldn't win with and is fixing to win a division title.

When asked why other teams can win with backups, including our backups, but we cant...............Jerry said he had no explanation for it.

If we had been having Patriots like success over the last 5-6 years - I can understand such confidence in the organization.

We've been 6-10, 8-8, 8-8, 8-8, 12-4 and now about to be 4-12. 1 winning season in 6 years - in a league of parity, with a franchise QB.

None of that is a ringing endorsement for the 'new management' or for that goofy ginger 'coach' you so adamantly defend.

That is what I don't get...............the results are not there, but folks claim that coaching is no issue here.

1 playoff season in 6 years and Garrett was head coach for 5.5 of those 6 years............at what point does Garrett actually have to produce results?

I would seriously like to know this from his supporters, when do actual results start to matter or is this a situation of being a fan of Garrett and wanting him to say head coach regardless of the results?

Fair argument, I would like to see more from Weeden. Titans are a bad, bad football team.

Oh our coaching has been awful this season, I won't argue that.

The backup QB situation needs to be fixed, Kyle Orton looked better than any QB we have had this season in what was essentially a playoff game against the Eagles in the season finale a few years back. Garrett got ultra conservative once Romo went down and it just didn't work out well. The games where he actually let Cassel air it out (NYG, Phi), he was actually not half bad. Garrett just played the flow of the game and it burnt him 8 times this season.

I agree the coaching was awful this season, I just don't see a team that needs an overhaul. The first step to the Superbowl is to always win the division and we can do that with the current staff. Make it to the tournament and crazy things can happen...ask Baltimore and New York.

In a perfect world, we would replace Garrett with someone else but it is not happening...so might as well be optimistic. This is a very young football team, they can get better if we make the right moves this offseason.

I think if the results are not there in 2016 garrett will be looking for another job. I think they have to make the playoffs or its over for him big contract or not. they will then clean house and make a new start

He doesn't have me convinced of anything. I see the warts and problems with the team and his mistakes as a GM just like you real fans. But again, I don't see anything he said in that article that was wrong or delusional. Just seems like the real fans are just repeating the same ole tired comments they always say
when Jerry speaks.

I'm not one to say who's a real fan and who's not. We are all real fans, we just have our different ways of expressing it.

bottom line is dallas is not close to being a SB team.
Jerry doesnt see that so off we go into fantasy land.

Romo had a whole year off and will have to get back into his groove.
Dez will miss another off season, and may or may not return to 2014 form.
The cowboys may or may not improve their QB situation.
I know they will try, but they thought it was good with weeden.

They think JG and this staff can lead the team to a SB and that is just a huge flaw.

Dallas might get in playoffs next year or year after, but they wont get past the div round.

Same for this year, jerry thought if they could just win the div and get in., a SB run was possible, and that is just a fantasy.
Flawed thinking!
If they had won a few with no romo and romo comes back and wins enough to get in playoffs, we would be 1 and done .
Or best case win in WC round and lose in div round.

Had we got in, no way we beat the top teams Carolina, Arizona. and even GB and Seattle would likely have beat us.

You only have to look at the carolina game to see what would have happened in the playoffs.
