Jerry Jones: Zeke was (picked) too high for us"

I think that he meant that his pay was too high to keep at that price.
That's exactly what he meant. There's a reason "picked" is in quotation marks. He didn't actually say that, but people are going to fill in the blank and run with it.

Jerry's full quote: ”Zeke is a good football player. He’s still an outstanding football player. I’ll say the word, ‘outstanding’ football player. He’s too high for us, where he was. That has a lot to do with this conversation about running back.”

Yeah. I didn’t want Zeke at 4, but he was amazing for a few years. Holding out with two years left and Jerry caving was the big mistake.
It was...and Jerry made a bad bad decision that really hurt this team

I wonder why Calvin didn't understand what he said? I understood what he meant.

Has anybody the thought that an 80- year old man with drinking on his profile just spews idiocy from time to time?
We need to adjust our thinking about what he babbles as Jerald approaches the end of his life.
It won't always make sense but we have to discern what is logic and what is babble.

This was always obvious.

They botched everything with Joseph Randle so badly the year before; that made them think they were forced into taking an elite RB as a top 5 pick. In reality, they should've taken Ramsey and grabbed an RB in the mid-rounds.

Exactly, all draft projections had him that high. Not many fans complained about Zeke. Now alot of Monday morning QB. Shut up Jerry. You have made a hell of alot bigger mistakes then Zeke.
In his prime, Zeke was a steady and solid RB. My main point of contention is tha horrific holdout and tha outlandish deal Jerald gave Zeke.
The old man caved big time and Zeke loved holding fans and the FO hostage.
Now, as Zeke looks around for another Jerald to swindle, all I can do is enjoy his dismay that no one is (yet) taking the bait.
And for those fans and players who think Zeke should be welcomed back, well, you are senseless and misguided.

Not taking Henry in the 2nd (and thus taking Jaylon Smith) over Zeke at 4 has got to be the worst FO blunder since the 90s. Had hit on every OL pick and had this monstrous OL that could wear down and maul teams. Could have had the perfect RB to bulldoze defenses and make them quit. Really would have been the perfect combo. Henry is a generational RB, really don't see anyone built like that play the position in any era. Too bad.

Oh, no, we should follow the lead of Dak and Fat Mac and re-sign Zeke and burn a roster spot and let him re-take his place at the training table.
...
Yes lad, we should let go. But it is so hard for some who take comfort in the mediocre past.

Zeke is the reason we won those early years! I guess we should have passed on Dorsett and Emmitt
Fans are fickle.

I hope this doesn’t end up like the Moss miss where Jerry regrets drafting and paying Zeke so high that they miss out on a ‘gimme pick‘ that drops to them in the first like Bijan Robinson.

The pick of Zeke was a good one. The resigning of Zeke for big money was a bad signing.

Goff is on his 2nd team. Goff did have a good year last year
I don't care how many teams he has been on. He played better than Dak last year. All that matters to me.
What does dak have to do with Goff?? Ohh just to bash Dak again.
The first post is what I was responding too. THAT poster brought up Dak NOT me. That isn't me bashing Dak at all. That is you jumping to conclusions.

Ohh just not just bashing Dak again.

Your welcome. SMH.

He just said that his salary was too high to keep. Which is absolutely correct.
