...I just caught the end of an interview with Jerry on ESPN2 during the Desparadoes game. Jerry said he doesn't know if he can get it, but we need a WOW player to compliment what T.O. and Witten bring to the offense. He also added he's hoping Glenn will come back.

Let the speculation continue... :D

He talked about the costs of moving up for McFadden, the fact that there are lots of RBs in this draft and a compliment to Barber is high on their list. He compared Barber to Irvin as an insirational leader on the field.

My guess...

A "wow" player and "you'll be suprised how we get there" = McFadden.

Jerry's certainly not shy about expressing his thoughts on the subject.

A WOW player can be any player on offense that is dynamic and helps out the offense.

It does not mean you have to move up to get McFadden. It could be another RB that excites him and he can envision being huge in this offense. It could mean a WR that he feels will be a huge factor for the cowboys as well.

It is not relegated to one person that many think it has to be.

What if he thinks another running back would turn out to stunning surrounded by players like TO, Witten, Barber and Romo...what if he envisions someone like Chris Johnson being someone that could come in and be free to run wild for the cowboys.

It is a player he may not feel he needs to trade up for but could be HUGE for the cowboys.

Would love to see them land McFadden, but I still think its a huge longshot

I do think getting him in the first and a solid CB prospect in round two improves the team more than anything else they could do on draft day

me thinks he refers to a wideout. somebody with blazing speed who can return punts. we need speed on offense to complement everyone else. jones mention of Glenn also points out to this. a trade up to get to certain WR might be in the works IMO.

It wont be for any of the top 3 picks...the Raiders are the first legtimiate shot IMO to trade up with. Because they've spent so much money (and may be spending more on Hall) they might really want out of the 4th spot, and could be convinced to take less that perceived equal value to move down. they also have the memory of the long holdout Jemarcus Russell had last yr fresh on their mind. KC wouldnt take McFadden at 5, so he could get to the Jets pick. If he gets to 6-7-8 a trade up becomes closer to pissible IMO.

That said, I really think the Raiders will just take him at 4, and if for some incredibly dumb reason they didnt, there's not much chance the Jets pass on him

Jerry will always be the fool in the eyes of some. It doesn't really matter what he does.

OK, WOW players available at #22. Honestly, I dont see any WOW players at 22 that will contribute immediately as a starter.

Dmac has to be the WOW player. Move up to 4 or 5 with both 1st's and Spears and maybe someone else etc.

Dmac in Rd 1 & top CB rd 2 and top wr in rd 3. We don't need a starting cb as we have Henry and Newman. We need a cb to come in and start in the nickel, should be able to get that in rd 2.

If no Dmac then I want 4.24 Chris Johnson @ 22 or 28 or Jamaal Charles.

Get it done Jerry...

I could live with that. Porter, Cason or Godfrey.

I think the "WOW" player will be another WR, whether through trade or the draft... I think the only NFL ready guy is Jackson from Cal, he's a good route runner and has excellent speed and good hands.
