He's about as much wow as Ted Ginn is a wow player.

LOL. Yes, as in "Wow, I can't believe the Dolphins were dumb enough to take that guy at #9!"

That still cracks me up. It's good that Parcells is stuck with the guy and he can lament about who he COULD have had on his roster if the Dolphins would have had half a brain last season. Karma paybacks for Carpenter, I suppose.:)

he's actually more polished a receiver and a better punt returner than Ginn was

And that makes him a "Wow" player?

Those are probably the exact words that will come out of my mouth if that happens. ;)

what if he envisions someone like Chris Johnson being someone that could come in and be free to run wild for the cowboys.

I most certainly hope so!!!

#22 CB
#28 WR
next pick: wheel and deal in the 2nd to move up and get Chris Johnson early!

I can't stop laughing at the fact that Chris Johnson and DeSean Jackson are considered WOW players. This is from people who had the pleasure of watching 5 superbowl teams and countless HOFer's. What has the Cowboys team come to when we go from Irvin and Smith being WOW players to DeSean Jackson and Chris Johnson. It is a sad sad day in Cowboy history my friends.

me thinks he refers to a wideout. somebody with blazing speed who can return punts. we need speed on offense to complement everyone else. jones mention of Glenn also points out to this. a trade up to get to certain WR might be in the works IMO.

I think you are on to something here.

Im not sure hes just putting it out there to make sure that all calls come to him on draft day. Jerry has a habit of saying one thing at this time of year and doing exactly the opposite in April

i think 2 things, i see jerry jones possibly trading up from the 22nd pick to about the 16th to 20th pick but not any higher, he isnt going to trade BARBER PERIOD!

now i do think he possibly could trade akin odoyle, possibly some othe players like spears or carpenter if price is right.

but i dont see a dominant wr is this draft, to go up high for that pick real high.

i like ray rice and chris johnson as rbs, possibly felix jones, but i like the first 2 better,

yes, i do see the cowboys using chris johnson in the slot some and spelling barber some, he ran wr some in the slot in college, and he is fast and elusive

then i see the cowboys trading down from the 28th spot, to about miamis spot or atlanta's, to pick up an extra 3rd.

i also see a surprise move, jerry jones possibly using his 2009 picks, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, possibly the 4th, to use those picks to move up if need be,

only wr i see worthwhile and he is a big gamble is desean jackson, but he is real small, and doesnt run routes right, etc, but a dangerous punt returner, and dave thomas wr,

kelly is falling due to his not running

Logic is our friend:) Thank you!

Reaching for Chris Johnson, a projected 2nd rounder, in the first is logic?

As long as we get a cornerback and running back in the first two rounds I will probablt be happy.

He very well could be looking at trading for Roy Williams too. Getting a WOW player does not necessarily mean you are drafting one.

There were and are players that may have been available and may still be. Rumors about Chad JOhnson, Larry Fitz and Roy Williams all fit the WOW player status so he is not necessarily talking about the draft.

...I just caught the end of an interview with Jerry on ESPN2 during the Desparadoes game. Jerry said he doesn't know if he can get it, but we need a WOW player to compliment what T.O. and Witten bring to the offense. He also added he's hoping Glenn will come back.

Let the speculation continue... :D

I know this wasn't a direct quote but if the bolded statement is somewhat accurate, you can interpret it as jerry saying they need a WOW player on defense to compliment what TO and Witten do on offense. I missed the interview so i might be talking out of my arse here. But since we are all speculating i figured i throw this idea in there as well.

So is there a WOW player on the defensive side of the ball that they might be targeting. One that might go pretty high in the draft which would require the Boys to move up to get him? Or will there be a wow defensive player at #22 and #28?

I seriously doubt there is any real shot that we come away with DMac and I'm going to be smiling from ear to ear at what all these people will say who've been so dead set on the idea that he's no doubt going to be a Cowboy. No doubt about it. It's gonna happen.

I can't wait to see what they have to say when their wet dream doesn't happen.

Jerry's certainly not shy about expressing his thoughts on the subject.

Sounds like he is letting everyone know he is looking to deal.

A WOW player can be any player on offense that is dynamic and helps out the offense.

It does not mean you have to move up to get McFadden. It could be another RB that excites him and he can envision being huge in this offense. It could mean a WR that he feels will be a huge factor for the cowboys as well.

It is not relegated to one person that many think it has to be.

What if he thinks another running back would turn out to stunning surrounded by players like TO, Witten, Barber and Romo...what if he envisions someone like Chris Johnson being someone that could come in and be free to run wild for the cowboys.

It is a player he may not feel he needs to trade up for but could be HUGE for the cowboys.

I agree, it doesn't have to be McFadden. It could easily be a WR or another RB that he may bring in, and not just McFadden.
