Jerry, Kraft, Mc Nair being deposed about Kaepernick

The difficulty is proving actual collusion, which means they would have all had to get together and agree not to sign him.

I think it's clear the owners are refusing to sign him because of their fear it'll hurt their bottom line or because they don't care for what he stands for, but I doubt they all had to talk to each other to agree on that.
Beat me to it.

The one thing that can be proven is that Kaep was trash last season and it's no surprise teams would pass up on that along with the accompanying drama and noise.

Kaepernick threw 16 TDs vs 4 Interceptions last season for a 91 QB rating.

He also ran for 2 TDs.

I'd hardly call those "trash" stats, especially considering how poor the 49ers offensive players have been.

From a pure football perspective, I'd say he is talented enough to be QB2 or QB3 on nearly every team in the NFL.

from the link from OP:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Texans owner Bob McNair, amongst others, will be deposed and asked to turn over all cell phone records and emails in relation to the Colin Kaepernick collusion case against the NFL, a league source confirmed. Others owners, teams and league officials also will be deposed, but those individuals have been confirmed for now.

This seems idiotic to upset all of these owners, about one player.

Aren't these the three owners rumored to have been against Goodell's contract extension?

i think the collusion case only has to show two owners agreed to not sign him. all it takes is a text saying "im not signing him and you shouldn't either" to get things started

I think Kap might have a case.

Putting aside for a moment how I feel about Kap's actions, it sure seems like there has been league-wide collusion to blacklist him.
There's a big difference in what these QB's are getting signed for and what Kaepernick thinks he's worth.

How`s he a moron? He`s always come accross as a well spoken guy. Say what you want about his stance, it doesn`t mean he`s dumb.

Even dumb players who have done much worse get multiple chances in this league (Michael Vick)

That guy is a big POS and should've never been allowed back in the league! grabbing innocent dogs by their legs and slamming them into the ground and killing them.

Yet we have people saying kneeling for anthem is waaaaaaay worse.... Right

Obviously he's well educated. But he seems naive for one and doesn't come across to me as someone who really understands what he's fighting for. I think he lacks logic in disposing the difference between public perception and the truth.

I really don't dislike the guy (at the same time I'm not the one who called him a moron either someone else did,) was a big fan of him coming into the league and I honestly thought he was going to be the next Romo like story.

Here's my problem with the Vick comment. Vick did something which was clearly wrong, he served his time and in my opinion that made him eligible to work a job like any other citizen who does something illegal and serves their time for it. Kaep situation is different because he didn't do anything wrong. The only reason Vick was brought back was because of what he could do on the football field. I think it's safe to say that when Vick returned he was a better player than Kaep is today. Kaepernick just isn't good enough at this point to be a starter in the NFL. Does he have the talent and skills to be a backup on some team? Yes. Do teams want backup QB's to take any part of the spotlight from anyone else on the team? No. Kaepernick isn't in the NFL for the same reason that Tim Tebow isn't in the NFL. And at this point I'd say that Tebow showed more promise considering once Kaepernick fell off he looked done. Tebow was somewhat successful (even though it was in an unorthodox way) his last stint as a starting QB.

It will be even tougher for someone to get much useful out of Jones' outdated flip phone.

Jerry recently upgraded:

Exactly...

Collusion between the owners? I highly doubt it.

Kaepernick just needs to realize he's not that great....and teams don't want the politics that come w/ him.

See I have to disagree with this. What Vick did is absolutely worse. But it's also a different situation, he went to jail and served his time and was eligible to return. Kaepernick isn't ineligible to return, he's just not half the player at this point that Vick was. Vick was good enough to start on that Eagles team upon returning, he was one of the best QBs in the league that year. What team would really benefit from starting Kaepernick? And really, what team would want a QB on the bench who's constantly in the headlines bc of something that he created?

Morally speaking it was a disgusting act and VICK shouldn't have been allowed back. I was disgusted that the league let him back. It was a joke
