A gentleman that works out at my gym and I were having a discussion about our favorite teams last night. This guy is a prominent business owner in the Pittsburgh area.He told me that over the summer He and his wife were invited to a dinner in DFW area that Jerry had for some children's charity. This guy's wife is a big wig within the charity i guess.Anyway,Jerry told my friend in conversation that he loves him some Cowher and winked. He also said Jerry was pretty loaded, lol. They were discussing coaches and future jobs. And out spurted Jerry saying this.Take it for what it is.It is heresay but this guy has no reason to lie.

God, I hope not. He'll mail it in. He's in his fifties now, he's already had success. Let's get a young guy with something to prove.

I know someone that has worked for the Steelers for 30 years and he says Cowher is the dumbest guy he's ever met.

Dunta Robinson over Roethlisberger. That's all we need is another dunce in the War Room.

Jerry didn't mean that he loved him as a coach:eek:

I honestly feel Cowher is exactly the kind of coach we need right there. The talent is there, we just need someone the players respect (fear) enough and they will be accountable to.

Plus, he's a 3-4 guy so no transition time.

Not sure I follow the Robinson over Rothlisberger line? Fact is, most every other organization other than the Steelers would have fired a guy who lost as many big games in the playoffs as Cower did. Imagine if he had done that here. He lasted what, 15 years, and didn't win it till his last? No other franchise in the NFL would have not made a change with all the home field playoff losses he had.

Cowher would be better than Wade... but so would a sock puppet, really.

Thing is, with Cowher, he always had very good teams in Pittsburgh, but he always lost Championship games.

Were it not for the refs, he likely would've lost to Seattle as well.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good coach and would be the best coach we've had since Jimmy... but I don't think he'd work miracles here.

As the first 7 or 8 picks of the 2004 NFL Draft came off the board, Cowher casued a stink in the Steelers Draft Room by saying that if Dunta Robinson and Big Ben were available at pick #11, they were taking Robinson despite Kevin Colbert and his scouts saying Roethlisberger was higher rated and the Steelers needed a qb.

It got heated enough that Dan Rooney entered the room and told Cowher "we're taking the qb." Dan Rooney rarely interferes with football operations. The point was moot because Robinson was taken by the Texans right before the Steelers pick.

Anyway, Cowher is a dunce.

I very much doubt that Coach Cowher would want to work for Jerry.

Jerry is too meddlesome. The Pittsburgh owners actually let their coaches coach..

Here's the reality. Bill Cowher will want close to $10 million a season and total control over personnel decisions. The latter of the 2 have 2 road blocks. They are called Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Cowher will not be coaching this team. If he did, he's not the guy to take Romo to the next level and he certainly won't have LeBeau to guide his defense. 3-4 guy or not.

You know, I heard from the security guard outside Six Flags that Jerry has *serious* interest in bringing back Jimmy Johnson.

He also told me that he stays up and watches the stars every night hoping to catch a glimpse of the UFO that has been sending him secret messages through his alphabet soup. But, I digress.
