And interesting story, parcells316.

Cowher isn't my first choice, either, but I doubt he would come here anyway.

thats what im thinking, i want a young head coach that is eager for his first super bowl win,
kinda like a young rex ryan or a mike singletary

You realize that Singletary is exactly one year younger than Cowher, right?

Also, Gruden is fiver years younger than Singletary.

I have no idea why so many people think Singletary is such a young head coach.

Cowher is already penciled in to take over Carolina when Fox is fired.

Holmgren and Shanahan are the two most visible possibilities. I think Holmgren just might decide to stay retired. so that leaves Shanahan who jerruh is known to like. NOW the question is will Jerruh give him the authority needed to get the job done.

Jerry may love Cowher, but Cowher hates Jerry and the Cowboys. You can figure that out by just listening to him talk when discussing the Cowboys.

Probably that painful loss the Cowboys dealt his Steelers in the 95' Superbowl! :steelers:

Singletary is only 50 years old! (actually he turns 51 on Oct. 9th) By head coach standards, that isn't old at all.

Correct about Cower in Carolina. Do you not think Gruden could be a possibility? We will be competing with at least teh Skins for a head coach.....

Dunta Robinson over Roethlisberger. That's all we need is another dunce in the War Room.

Yeah, Cowher's drafts in Pittsburgh were horrendous.

Cowher would be better than Wade... but so would a sock puppet, really.

Thing is, with Cowher, he always had very good teams in Pittsburgh, but he always lost Championship games.

Were it not for the refs, he likely would've lost to Seattle as well.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good coach and would be the best coach we've had since Jimmy... but I don't think he'd work miracles here.

Cowher also had horrendous QB's and still had great success. In some ways, the Steelers were victims of their own success. They usually played well and were too high up in the draft to go after a QB. His biggest mistake was sticking with Kordell and he still had success and still got a league MVP out of Kordell. Then he got Big Ben and within 2 years they get a Super Bowl and go 31-7 in those 2 years.

We have personnel that consists of big, strong O-Linemen and a defense suited for a 3-4. One of our major issues is the safety position (only 1 INT in the last 26 games from our safeties). And we need a coach that is an arsekicker. Cowher by far fits what we need compared to Gruden, Shanahan, Holmgren, etc and I personally think he's a better coach than all of them except for probably Shanahan and that's a close one.

I have a feeling this is a Steeler fan trying to get a Cowboy fan worked up.

I do not think Cowher would want to "betray" the folks of Pittsburgh

But then again ..... I never thought I would see Favre in a Viking uni.

The operative question is: "Does Cowher love him some Jerry?"

My sources say no. Time to move on.

Pretty much, it always seems like he is whenever there's a social function.

Gee I never put that 2 and 2 together and got my 4 until recently and I started reading all these stories about how he likes his liquor. I guess I just never paid attention.

Maybe we can stage an intervention and have him packed off to Betty Ford or Promises around draft time....that could only be good for Cowboys Nation.
