Since his team isn't in the playoffs for the 1st time in 3 years, Jerry is gonna drag this thing out to January 13th or 14th for the media attention.

Clown show.

I think fans just want to see a plan. Agency, direction, whatever you call it.

This current front office just does.. nothing.. and expects everyone to get in line with praise.
Exactly. Some sort of evidence of an actual plan would be nice.

Good luck to Mike, he will find a job by weeks end, if not sooner. Hope he also tells all about the decrepid corpse of an owner and his illegit Son

Yes but there is a much better way to answer the question if he’s not looking to throw MM under the bus.

“We haven’t offered Mike a formal extension yet so we would fully expect him to keep all options on the table until we do” is all he really has to say there.

They’ve worked with the guy for 5 years now and they can’t decide if they want to keep him around or not? It’s completely ridiculous.
I agree, it was a rather immature way to answer, but hey, that's our ballless leader!

Canned equals fired. That has not happened.

Jones is playing his usual games. If he is not going to retain McCarthy, he should fire him. Arguably, he should have fired him for sometime.

Instead, he will likely allow McCarthy's contract to expire, just like what happened with Jason Garrett. Some members are agitated in Jones being purposefully and illogically indecisive about his head coach's fate.
LOL, I mean.... the season JUST ended an hour ago.

He wasn't fired midseason. No point in being angry about that now.

Are these members angry that McCarthy was granted locker room access postgame?

"He said he wants to work with people who want to be here." So, is he saying Mike doesn't want to come back?
Jerry decided to have him work his entire final season of his contract without extending him.

Sounds like the decision was made last winter and Jerry was just too cheap to fire him. If I were MM and had better offers I’d leave at this point even of Jerry offers a mew contract.

Wouldn’t even matter if he hired a GM in title. They still hold the checkbook and that person would be subject to the same philosophy.

If you’re looking for like an advisor type, isn’t McClay already that?

They don’t know how build a winner yet truly believe that they do. They won’t win more than 7-8 games in a season for a while, then maybe we get a Parcells situation. Best you can hope for, but it’s more likely to see 88 year old Jerry in a wheelchair boasting over those three 12 win seasons of years ago, that “rim”….and Phillys imminent cap problems, and how that franchise will need to fold soon.
