Twitter: Jerry on 105.3 this morning

Is this how Jerry is “being uncomfortable” with OBJ? He’s trying to drive the price down.

I say don’t sign him at all, but they sure are recruiting him hard for someone who has “health concerns.”

He said it’s paramount he plays this year but wouldn’t elaborate on how much or when. It doesn’t sound like this is getting done anytime soon at least not here

OBJ is not playing this year. Thare are only five games left and he's not ready. Hence, he's not coming to Dallas.

Jerry said, if he's not paying now, then he's not a Cowboy.

It sounds like OBJ is trying to get a multi year contract without a guarantee of being able to play the season.

That's how I read the uncomfortable quote from the start. I don't think it's Jerry being uncomfortable, but most likely OBJ. The multi year $20M per talk is crazy for a guy who wont work out for teams. If OBJ wants to come to Dallas Jerry may make the contract appealing, but I highly doubt it comes with much guaranteed money.

I don't see how he gets a big deal, and multi-year contract with the back to back ACL injuries. He needs a good prove it year this year first.

No way would I give a multi year deal with any injury clauses/guarantees right now.
Agreed. Anyone stupid enough to pay him big money to rehab deserves to be swindled. If he will not workout and at least prove he is capable then end 2022 contract discussions.

This, folks, is what alcoholics call a "moment of clarity." Now we just need Jerry to remember what he said later in the week once he is in his cups.

It's kind of odd that his agent would even advise him to visit teams at this point if not willing to work out. If he's healthy and willing to work out in April during the FA signing period, he's clearly going to be one of the top free agents on the market and will be able to secure a nice multi-year contract from someone.

It's taken them a couple of weeks to realise, but there is no market for OBJ. They are bidding against themselves
