Thank god sensible Jerry came to the table. This makes no sense for this team right now. Unless OBJ can stop the run or pass.
He didn’t come to his senses on his own. Stephen, McClay and maybe McCarthy helped him greatly. It’s Johnny Manziel part deaux.

Sounds like typical Cowboys posturing through the media. That and Stephen has now entered the conversation. Lol

Washington will make more of a contribution than Beckham will.

Not only do doctors and trainers know the status of Washington, he knows the full playbook.

CD, Gallup, Brown, Washington. While not ideal, there is enough to make a playoff push. Especially if you take into account the RB's and TE's.

Lots of ways to spread the ball around. OBJ is just too much of an unknown at this point

Is he that brittle that he's too scared to work out? Seems to me, he doesn't want to do the three cone drill because he might injure itself again. Imagine signing a guy whose job is to run and cut, but he don't want to prove to everyone that he can run and cut. Scared don't pay the bills, as they say.

Jerry has stars in his eyes and is just pretending to play hardball for the fans.

OBJ will be a Cowboy Friday afternoon

If OBJ isn't even healthy enough to play this year, why are we even doing this song and dance?

It's kind of odd that his agent would even advise him to visit teams at this point if not willing to work out. If he's healthy and willing to work out in April during the FA signing period, he's clearly going to be one of the top free agents on the market and will be able to secure a nice multi-year contract from someone.
Agreed he's probably not match fit ATM, but is looking for that possibility that there's a playoff bound team that are so desperate for his services that they sign him now ...for a playoff cameo and next couple of years.
If the long term offers aren't there (at top market prices) he'll wait out until the post season.

I agree. Go with what you got. This team is pointing up and still hasn’t peaked yet. Washington can help.

It's taken them a couple of weeks to realise, but there is no market for OBJ. They are bidding against themselves
This is to influence his decision in the offseason.

Boom!!! This is the money quote.
If Beckham can't play this season then why sign him now? Activate Washington and get focused on making a Playoff run. If the Cowboys feel they need a WR get one in the offseason during FA or the draft.

Here's an idea...get Pollard an extension now over signing Beckham.

I think Jerry wants him here. However I agree with your take which is why I feel like he’s changed his tune a bit. I think it’s also a bit of disappointment. So activate Washington and let’s roll and visit OBJ in the off-season.

I agree it does sound like a tone change.
