Twitter: Jerry on Cooper Rush's $250k incentive

I would imagine that would have to be against the CBA, especially for active players.

If you could legally do what you stated then they would just sign players for cheap cap hits and do these private matter/cash tip deals.
It'd be easy to do. There's no way to monitor it.

The owners WANT the salary cap so they don't have to do exactly that. It gives them an excuse for player salary control.

Can we get back to Jerry on this? Dak is already blamed for everything. Dak drank tea yesterday, can he just enjoy that?

He got paid handsomely to drink that tea. Lined them up for product placement nicely.

Dak, the drinker of gay tea and buyer of beta-male Electric bicycles...

Here is the issue with this whole thing. Why is the coach/gm being asked about players playing or not? That's what's wrong with the franchise.

Jerry needs to go before his empire crumbles entirely in shame and he’s forced out of ownership. What a pathetic human being.

.....we have gone from water bottles, red bulls, and now tea......we ain't got nothing for next week. Dang! What are we gonna blame now?

MM could have played him too. A parting gift for Jerry.
That would have probably sealed his fate as HC on this team. As it is right now it's probably 50/50 that he remains the HC.

Ok so what is it. Play Lance or let Cooper get his incentives. You can't be mad about both. Fans just nit picking everything. I guarantee the same people wanting Lance to play are the same ones that want rush to get his incentives.
You’re not wrong, but here’s the rebuttal. If you’re going to ice out Lance the entire year, don’t bench Rush the last game of the year when it means he loses $250,000 OR if you do bench him, how about just paying Rush the incentive anyway since he won you four games and played, for me, far above expectations? Instead, the cheap jerk plays ignorant and just screws Rush over.

If you guys want the team to sign free agents, we need to keep that 250k to attract the higher end dumpster free agents.
Can't be blowing slices of pie to Rush.

It’s amazing that the guy that brags about being the only person on the planet that can, as the GM, properly manage all of the Cowboys’ contracts is now claiming he didn’t know about a 1/4 of a million dollar incentive in a contract he negotiated. This is where a reporter worth their salt would throw this past statement right back in his wrinkled face.

Annnnnd somehow Dak is brought into the thread.

Not that the supposed GM didn't know about an incentive clause that he had to approve.

Or he lied and started Lance anyway.

Seattle was out of the playoffs and Geno Smith earned 3 separate 2 million dollar bonuses yesterday.

Six million dollars the team wouldn't have had to pay him by simply sitting him out.

But the fact that they waited to give Lance any playing time until the last week is the problem.

Nothing changed over the last month. This team was not making the playoffs. Even after they were mathematically elimated, rush was still playing.

The timing looks bad. And its something Jerry's cheap *** would do. Most valuable franchise in sports but he's too cheap to spend on high priced coaches.

If he truly didn't know about it, rush should be given that incentive anyway. He has outplayed his contract more than anyone else in that locker room

It's really pathetic and sad when a man of Jerry's wealth (10 Billion net worth) gets cheap with someone like Cooper Rush who isn't making 60M a year.

That said, I try not to get to incensed when the billionaires step on the millionaires.
