I believe the issue with taking Felix J. over Mendenhall was that Mendenhall is a similar type back to MBIII and they were not looking for that type player.

Somebody mentioned there was a desire to have both MBIII AND Felix Jones on the field at the same time and what that would do to increase the options offensively.

And that it didn't have that ability if we had drafted Mendenhall over Felix. They were too similar in style and talent and wouldn't give the defense the same concerns when both he and MBIII would be in.

This just screams Garrett and looking at how to best use Felix Jones. I mean picking this guy as our next RB has been pretty much been a lock since the end of the season. To actually get him, must have been pretty gratifying.

If there hadn't been several quirky trades after the 19th pick, we might not have had a shot at either Jones or Mendenhall. We got lucky. Not to mention Jenkins being there at 28.

I didn't think we had a snowball's chance at getting him at #28. That was just too nice. Wow..!!

So I'm glad we have made the decisions we have at RB and we'll be much improved over JuJo.

Also, Jerry Jones mentioned that we are still looking for a #3 RB in this draft or FA.

So I'm beginning to wonder if they are possibly looking at bringing in Shawn Alexander for a looksee..?

Since we traded away our #5 & #7 to get Jenkins, that leads me to believe we just won't be throwing anymore picks at the RB position in this draft..there just aren't going to be enough now.

We'll see.

Brady Quinn signed a 5 year 9.25 million dollar contract as the 22nd pick last year.

9-9.5 million over 5 years for Felix is too much? Get real.

it's not a bad pick, but if we don't sign barber, it would have been better to go with mendenhall. he would have provided insurance.

THAT is WHY Mendenhall should've been the pick. I'd sleep a whole lot better at night knowing that if Barber were to get hurt, god forbid...our backup guy could tote the rock 20-25 times a game. :bang2:

i would have prefered jenkins with 22, a wr at 28, and charles in the 2nd. that we hit all 3 needs. ofcourse, we may still get our wr so i still could be happy. i'm just not sure how many will be there at the end of the 2nd. i never would have thought they (wr) would drop this much.
