Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on rookie sixth-round pick WR Ryan Flournoy: "I'm anxious to see him make his first catch with the Dallas Cowboys. He may be something special for us. On a personal basis, he's got Dez Bryant stuff to him. Boy, is he an athlete. I'm glad to see him get this opportunity ... he could show out."

Jerry selling hope, making sure fans are excited about "something"....he is taking too many risks with his words. it reminds me of when he was pumping up Quincy Carter as a gamer...how did that work out.
even Dez who was top 10 talent struggled his first year in the league. Flourney is a 6th round pick and was at the bottom of the depth chart. now, we expect him to come in and save the passing offense? seriously!!!

this is another Jerry thing that's going to blow up in his face..

this kid will make a play or two. not do much else or be a factor and Jerry will say, lets focus on the positive.

he may have talent, but its going to take a while.

Does Ryan Flournoy have Dez Bryant stuff or did Dez Bryant have Ryan Flournoy stuff? How will history remember it?

Cowboys! in your face while you ponder that this Saturday morning.

Flourney has yet to be awarded a chance to show his wares in a way that reveals his abilities.

It's strictly up to MM to allow that to happen. Big Mike must just find the wherewithal to do so.

He has a tendency to restrain himself from coming forth with the boldness to make it happen.

Perhaps, when push comes to shove, he'll finally call up the reserve to make miracles occur.

He reminds me of AJ Brown a little but who could be more like Noah Brown so we’ll see.
As long as he doesn't have any Charlie Brown in him. I will call him out when he is on the sidelines holding a blanket and sucking his thumb.

This is Jerry doing his thing. If he has some Dez Bryant stuff to him, why has he been inactive fore 4 games this year?

This is what Jerry excels at. Hyping his players.

Having said that, I liked what I saw of Flournoy in preseason too. He faced some first string CBs against the Raiders and he was able to get open with some excellent route running. It was a small sample size, but it made me want to see more. The only question is will Dak trust him enough to throw him the football or will h e force the ball to CeeDee?

Dez is one of the Cowboy GOAT WRs and had a passion for the game and the team that many players don’t possess.
He was far more concerned with disrespect than he was with winning championships. Dude was always getting distracted by trash talking DBs. It was far too easy to get him out of his game.

No disrespect to Flournoy…But…We must always keep in mind…when Jerry talks about a Cowboys player, it’s a marketing strategy not a serious scouting or GM statement. He probably winked when he said it.
My worry is it actually isn't marketing, but rather serious intent and belief.

These comments sure make the coaching staff look like idiots. Especially the wide receiver coach. How could he sit down Flournoy, and elevate a hobbled Cooks and struggling Tolbert when we had a Dez Bryant in our back pocket?
