Then again, how much of a home run threat is Turner? It'd kind of be like having two Barbers wouldn't it?

They didn't call him michael the BURNER Turner for nothing, he does have home run ability, although no way we're gonna give hima nice contract AND Barber.

For all the talk of trading up, I just hope we don't trade down.

I almost threw up when we passed on SJAX and still get a sick feeling about it when I see him tearing up in STL.

Hopefully Jerry will remember that.

We dont have many holes. I would be fine with trading down or out of first round for the right player. How about a #1 for Roy Williams?

The surprise?

I think we're going to draft Peyton Hillis, the one Arkansas RB/FB that no one has linked to us all offseason. Dallas has shown a good deal of interest in him, he's a versatile option who would fill multiple roster spots (RB, FB, ST) and can be taken rather late.

We'd still take a "speed" back too, someone like Chris Johnson who could contribute as the "complementary" back, as a receiver split out in the slot and as a kick returner.

That's it, I'm callin it.
Maybe. Think Jamaal Charles though. It seems likely jones will shop for a FA back and maybe try to develope a young back.

I sent this reply in a different thread about the same subject.....

the surpise will be IF D-Mac falls to #22(I know, highly unlikely) that the Cowboys do NOT draft him!!!

ATL will come calling offering their two 2nd rounders(they have 2 of them right?) and maybe more to move up to that pick to draft D-Mac....

then with the 1st 2nd rounder they will draft that Johnson kid fo RB....

just a hunch....throwing stuff against the wall...let's see if it sticks....

The market is right due to # of RBs in the draft and this would allow Cowboys to go DB/WR/DB/NT on day 1 which what they really want to do based on the talent of the draft.

I like the sounds of this CHRIS JOHNSON!

But if Darren McFadden (wishing on a :starspin is at our pick by magical chance? TAKE EM!) Fadden and Barber. Owens and Moss. Witten and Fasano.

As much as I dont like it, it's very possible that we end up resigning JJ. It seems like no one has even entertained the idea that JJ is coming back, I don't see him getting alot of offers in FA and with the 2 I think we did well last year.

I don't think JJ wants to come back either.

I think it's a mutual feeling on both sides.

If no one offers him a starting job he might not have a choice, for the life of me I can't think of a team that "needs" him. I think when all is said and done we might see him back in Dallas as the #2 back on a 1 year contract.

It doesn't matter if he gets 1 offer or 12 he's going to take the offer from one of those teams that isn't Dallas.

Unless Julius draws zero interest from any other team he's not going to resign with Dallas.

Perhaps the trade bait is different than what is expected. Ferguson and Fasano are very tradeable parts that Parcells wanted in Dallas. Possible that a combination picks, Fasano and Ferguson would be enough to get the Dolphins to bite.

Here is the main thing to ask yourselves when suggesting those types of trades. How many times in the NFL have you seen trades that involved multiple picks and players going from one team to another?

I, honestly, can not remember a single trade that involved 2 or 3 players going from one team to another and certainly don't remember any that had multiple players, and picks, going from one team to another.

In the NBA, yeah, I see it every year. In the NFL, no.

How about a trade with Parcell's for Lorenzo Booker?, He's a change of Pace back for sure.

GOD I HOPE NOT, he's a WASTE of a roster space!
On our team at least!
If I have to deal with another year of him getting tackled by a fingernail I'm gonna puke!

I don't think anything that Jerry does would be shocking to me. Unless he sold the team but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

You don't remember the The Herschal Walker trade? A trade involving multiple players/picks just happened last year when the Lions sent Dre Bly to the Denver Broncos for George Foster, Tatum Bell and a fifth-round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. It happens rarely, but it does happen.

just say jones sucks and let's fast forward to the ending.

That is kinda Harsh, my friend, Slushie.

I consider myself a huge fan of Jerra.

But let's be fay-AH.

For every T.O. or Garrett there has been a Carp or a Campo.

And for every Quincy and Switzer there have been a Deion or a Jimma Johnson.

Boys, Jerra is not a genius. But he is the most enthusiastic owner in the NFL Resourceful and he puts HIS money where his mouth is.

Yet, we always hold our collective breaths when he makes a personnel move.
Zach Thomas is an example.

But all in all, the occasional blooper will not change my mind about Jerra: He is a future HOFer.:)
