We have no path to get to a Super Bowl.

The GM won't hire a coach who doesn't kiss the *** of the owner, and the owner won't fire the GM.

So we have neutered coach, a GM with no accountability, and an owner who won't change anything because he won't get the 'credit' he wants if he does.

Twenty plus years of absolute buffoonery running this team. We're practically doomed when having an ignorant, stubborn, senile idiot owner who holds zero accountability to his incessant utter failures. And you can bet his lil boy Stephen has been groomed to be exactly like him, and his son there after.

There's a damn good reason government has term limits...

True. And It’s delusional for Jerry to think that we should just keep doing things the way he does, and then expect that we will somehow miraculously win a championship.

Doubling down on a bad way to run a football team is insane. Without substantive changes in the way Jerry runs this thing, a change in head coach is just a new paint job on the Titanic. It’s insane to think otherwise.

And Bob Kraft gets plenty of 'credit' by hiring the best people he can and staying the ~bleep~ out of the way.

Why he wants to waste all this time being a 'football guy' is beyond me.

Jerry is amazingly insecure. He craves the spotlight and “credit” like no sports owner I’ve ever seen. The only owner that comes close would be former Yankees owner, the late George Steinbrenner.

What’s crazy to me and hard to understand is that if Jerry hired a great GM and let that guy hire a great HC then stepped back, if that team won a SB, Jerry would get a ton of credit. But he can’t do that. He’s a very strangely insecure billionaire who has a deeply imbedded chip on his shoulder. He would rather continue being irrelevant in the playoffs than give up any of the spotlight. It’s literally crazy.

It all goes back to his Arkansas days with his buddies who became HC’s.

Jerry’s always had the passion to be a Football Guy with his attempt to buy the Chargers in late 60’s.

Owning a team provides Jerry a celebrity status way of life in football without the direct accountability associated working for someone else.

Basically he’s bought his way into the life he’d always wanted in football. All at our expense.

This may be the 20th time on my history here to type this but it's my feeling every time this subject comes up...

I was excited when Jerry bought the Cowboys. A lot of people hated how he dealt with Landry but I was 18 at the time and was ready for something new...Landry had grown stubborn and didn't want to change. So when they found success under Jimmy, you could say that was the highlight of Jerry's ownerdom...he hired good people, he spent money, he was fun to listen too and he stayed out of the way for the most part. He was loved and lauded for what he did. Then post Jimmy happened and he built a stadium, made the HOF, made the league a ton of money....but he will never be as popular as that time. That is what I don't get...for a guy who is a shrewd businessman, he is a complete and utter idiot not to realize that if he used all his money to hire a top GM, a top coach...and would let them do their thing and they won..he'd still get credit and be popular. He just wants to be known as a football guy but he COULD if he did it the right way. It's what makes him insufferable now. Jimmy didn't start getting all the credit until Jerry started asking for the credit.

It’s not crazy at all Bob. I’ve seen similar situations on other business usually more from retirees who buy business because of their passion for that particular industry whether it’s a bar or restaurant, golf course , etc.

Jerry wanted to be a celebrity football guy without working for someone else who could control and fire him. So, you buy a team and run it your way.

That’s not crazy. It’s simply selfish and on our nickel.

I was excited too but because I thought Jimmy was the hottest prospect coming up. Tex had even mentioned interest in him if Tom retired.

But Jerry was a buffoon from Day 1. And Jerry was much involved from the onset and why he was so upset when Jimmy received the credit. It basically stole the thunder out from under him. He wanted to be the face of the Cowboys.

Make no mistake just as he continues to plea publicly. This is what Jerry wants . Winning his way. Without it he’s not interested in winning. I’m not sure why all fans can’t see it.

And it’s up to us the fans to hold him accountable which we’ve never done as Cowboys are still #1 in Revenue despite a generation of his foolishness.

There should be one voice and it should come from the head coach,” Aikman said. “The players should know that. The owner ultimately makes the decisions, we all know that. He’s the one who signs off. But I think there has to be one voice and one person the players answer to.”

I've said it for over 20 years, Jerry would rather be in control and the spotlight and lose than win with someone else as the architect and getting the credit. J

Jerry wasn't satisfied with being the owner and rubber stamp GM when we were winning Super Bowls with Jimmy. His priority isn't winning, it's trying to win with himself in control and in the spotlight...but that has never worked because we aren't going to win with mediocre coaches with one arm tied behind their backs while the buffoon in the owners suite is pulling the strings...but it won't stop him from futilely trying.

Jerry continues to double down every time there’s controversy in who has control and running the show.

This is what I’ve always respected about Jerry. His brutal honesty standing in the kitchen while it’s on fire.

We’ve just never held his feet to the fire forcing him to change or sell out which he’d do before stepping down if we all walked away and no one showed up.

I would like to hear your plan on how we can hold Jerrys feet to the fire and FORCE him to change or sell out .

Jerry is a man committed to being good at his Hobby like nobody in the history of the game , Worse is he has so much money that no matter how bad he screws up there are never any consequences that FORCE HIM TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT HE WANTS TO DO!!!

The brutal reality of it is we are completely at his mercy and can force him to do nothing . Its us who have to change or sellout and follow another team . There as many people who follow this team hoping they lose as there are wanting us to win . Jerry wins either way . Other than a natural disaster maybe a Meteor hitting the stadium at half time there is no change in sight .

But feel free to give me a real course of action that would bring about change in a reasonable amount of time like before we waste Dak , Zeke , Amari , The Oline and Dlaws careers . Im on board to help in any way I can because the pain of watching this dysfunctional mess is again after a small reprieve in 2016 becoming more than I can bare

Though in this case, they're both 500 pound men.[/QUOTE

How so?

1)Cowboys have a far richer history.
2)Cowboys have more worth, more fans.
3)Even in the last years of mediocrity and frustration, they have more wins.

I’m as frustrated as anyone, and I want Garrett gone, but the truth is, it COULD be worse. I know that’ll trigger a lot of fans, but that’s just my opinion.

because he has spent most of his life pretending to know football and being a ‘football guy’

to change now would be to accept he was wrong all along and others were right

his ego can’t take that

it is the same exact reason Garrett apologists continue to support that moron despite a decade of clear evidence he’s a bad coach. They are unwilling to accept that they were wrong

Because you're looking at the wrong scoreboard. Forget the playoff record the last 20 years and look the Forbes rankings where Jerry is #1. So why change when you can both win financially and you get to be comfortable and have fun at the same time?

And now he's even in the Hall of Fame, which in his mind validates him even more.

At a certain point, instead of proving that he can win his way, Jerry's going to expose the rest of the world to what we already know: Beyond the money, he had little to do with the super bowl run that gave him his legitimacy in the first place. At a party last week in NE, 4-5 people asked me if Jerry was always such an incoherent delusional mess. Never seemed to be a subject - it's usually smack talk about choking in January.
