IMO, we're starting to see some cracks in the armor. I believe Jerry has finally cracked, I think he's finally reached the frustration level. Don't get me wrong, he's not a football guy, so he has no idea why he's losing, but the bottom line is he's losing. If he can hire someone who can take us to the next level, Jerry may feel as if it was him. So, I don't believe it's beyond hope.

I agree that directly following the game the embarrassment and flood of emotions made him look a bit vulnerable . I just believe after the anger of the moment subsides he goes back to his old self . Garrett was usually lucky enough to save himself and win just enough to placate Jerry but he seems to have crossed a line now . If we win the division and possibly a home playoff game we are doomed he will have full faith in himself again LOL

I don’t really expect those invested in tickets to leave their money on the table. And Jerry doesn’t care if the stadium is infiltrated with opposing fans .

It will be up to this new generation of Cowboy fans to force their will. I’m not involved anymore , less emotionally attached and watch from a distance.

I’ve put my enthusiasm and activity I have left into following my Amateur schools on Friday Nites and Saturday’s . I love football and the intensity of attending my teams game.

I no longer can invest myself financially or emotionally with a team that’s not making every effort to win. But I do find comfort in talking about it with other disgruntled fans and it helps venting. I hope my memories , passions and insight can serve some purpose for others.

I share your position but have to admit that 2016 season really had me hopeful I loved the direction the team was going and got sucked in . There was so much change I had hope

The average fan of any team is optimistic, or at least leans that way, especially at the beginning of the season. Unless a team is winless or eliminated, most normal people at least TRY to remain optimistic. There of course is a double standard, though. If fans of other teams say “we’re gonna win”, it’s called being a good fan. If a Dallas fan says that, he’s arrogant and delusional.

I’m just tired of apologizing for my choice of favorite football team. Screw ‘em!

And MIA has major hopes for the future. W/ the draft picks they've piled up, if they get the right coaching staff in there, they'll be a playoff team in a couple years or so. And on the flip side, unless we make some big changes, we are on the way down.

And that will happen again. There will be pockets of success which will provide more hope. We had it with Romo era too.

The problem with Jerry’s leadership is we aren’t equipped to withstand adversity.

What separates Jerry from the other owners is he bought a NFL team because he wanted to be a Football Guy. Not just an owner. This wasn’t just an investment. This was a way of life he wanted.

This passion started early in his life like many of his college teammates. Remember Jerry tried to buy the Chargers in the late 60’s but couldn’t pull it off financially not wanting partners who could interfere with the control he was pursuing.

The difference with Jerry is he didn’t want to be held directly accountable like HC or GM’s are. He wants the celebrity status associated with being a HC but not in a position to be removed .

Understood. I agree with much of that.

However, his unwavering dogmatic approach towards being acknowledged as a Football Guy is his narcissism. The world he lives in:

• Media
• Other owners
• Coaches
• Players
• Canton
• Even fans

--provided all the recognition they are willing to afford him concerning his football knowledge prowess decades ago. The level of recognition he has received to date is not enough for him. It will never be enough for him. Why will it never be enough for him?

I’ll share what my father taught me as a kid growing up following Baylor who some of my friends laughed at cause were a dormant team.

Dad said” it’s easy to root and follow a good team but it builds character supporting a losing team “. He added” winning of course makes it more fun and will appreciate more ”.

“ Baylor is my Alma Mater and we’re going to support them much like you support the Cowboys cause they’re our local team “. And “ that’s how sports is meant to be”. He was right of course!!

I doubt Jerry does, he gets direct feedback from fans everywhere he goes. But in 2000 LB Randall Godfrey left Dallas for a big FA contract and a poster on a previous board said "Good riddance, totally overrated, etc". That board had a feature where you could email the poster and the guy who posted that instantly got an email from an account that was something like RGodfrey56@hotmail saying what he could suck, what he could put where, etc.

Did you catch Kraft's comments on this latest "spygate"? He took as long to answer that as Booger does to build up to even addressing the question. Kraft was there because he felt he had to be, Booger can't stand not to be there.

I’d argue he’s been the same throughout . Jimmy was just strong willed enough to overcome him.

I was very close to the situation then as a fan traveling on the road staying at same hotels mingling with players coaches and owner, same busses caravan to the games and attending training camps as well as all the home games. . Jerry was just as enthralled as now. He just had a greater HC who brought in all of the right talent and held it together.
