This is where I am at with MM:
1. He has not gotten over us the playoff hump in 5 years— and that is the sole reason he was brought here— so his tenure can only be viewed as a failure at the macro level (to this point)
2. He should have been fired after the GB debacle. That was the lowest point in 30 years as a franchise. A transition then would have resulted in some measure of culture change and chemistry in the locker room— though it wouldn’t change the real dysfunctional issues at the highest level
3. He was set up to fail this year. He has been screwed over by an incompetent FO. I just don’t see how someone’s head doesn’t roll for this turd of a season, and we all know the GM is safe— so that leaves MM to take the hit. Which was JJ’s safety measure on this crap show anyway. He has his scapegoat if he wants to play that card.
4. The way we lost last night points to a systemic issue within MM’s culture: penalties, mistakes, and lack or preparation. This team beats itself. It has been that way for 5 years, and despite some regular season success, we need an overhaul and a HC who can motivate the guys and keep them focused on their professional responsibilities.
Is he a “bad” coach? No. Is he the “right” coach for Dallas now? No. We need to shake things up and have a culture reset. You just don’t get that by running it back (again)
