Doesn't matter if the guy is right, or wrong. The fact that he has made up his addled mind (seemingly), feels the need to say what he said and thinks that is a smart thing to do makes me want to puke. Roll on Jerry, roll on...

Thinks Tony will be back in time for OTA's and says it's too early to invest a high draft pick in a qb. Said he's gone through this before with Aikman so he's experienced and He thinks Romo still has a long career ahead of him.

laughable on several levels. In one breath he says he learned from Aikman situation (which was waiting too long to bring in next QB) then goes off into lala land again by saying Romo has long career ahead of him. Romo doesn't have long NFL career ahead if he was 100% free of any chronic injuries. But now that we know he has significant chronic back disease its virtually impossible for that to stabilize or get better considering his age/ position and his reliance to quick shifting in pocket. I am starting to think Jerry just likes his pain.

Not gonna fire Wade or cut TO either. If JFB is available when the Cowboys draft, they will fall all over themselves running the card up to Goodell. Book it.

Have no problem with this decision but why tip your hand to the other 31 teams ???
Keep the inside info to yourself Jerry !

Picks #1 and #2 should be DL...Pick #3 should be a Safety...Pick #4 for a LB...Picks #5 thru #7 - QB, OL, or BPA...

It would be foolish to target a certain position in each round without even knowing who is going to be available when we are on the clock.

Most all of you are idiots.. Romo just signed a 100 million dollar contract this year, and he is only 33. You are starting to see alot of older players in their late 30's coming back from much more severe injuries like Peyton Manning. I still think we have not seen the best of Tony Romo.

Let's revisit this topic in a few years. I think we will all get a chuckle out of this one.

So you think Romo, who is 1-6 in winner-takes-all games is going to get better as he gets older and with multiple back surgeries? I would have to throw your first sentence back at ya.

This conversation doesn't really become interesting unless a qb falls to us that our scouting department is extremely high on. Idk what Jerry will do if that situation presents itself, but chances are neither does Jerry. Not in December anyway.

Really, who else besides Manning? Seems he's more of an outlier than the norm.

Philly didnt need a qb either. But they drafted kolb and foles. They got a first rounder for kolb and foles will be the reason they make the playoffs and Dallas will be on vacation.

What Jerry fails to appreciate is that a good backup QB can still become a valuable asset even if they do not end up playing much (convert to picks via trade). This is why I don't give to much credence to "we'll be set at that position for years" line of thinking which leads to overpaying aging, players, lack of roster depth, and reactionary personnel moves.

Your right. Let me reword that.

In todays football, I think QB's will be able to play longer because of all the technology. Peyton Manning will not be the only one to come back from more severe injuries.

If the value is there, you cannot diminish taking the QB as they ultimately are the players that separate good teams from bad.

Jones cannot wait for another "miracle".

I think this is a crucial point that people are missing.

I hope we hold out til next year for a QB unless someone slips into the 45th or 5th round that shouldn't be there. We need to use or top 3 or 4 picks on DL, OL, S, and LB.

Agreed. Even if we land some FA's in these areas, we need to draft in them as well.

Let's imagine this for a moment. This offense is susceptible to HUGE hits on the QB. Why? Because we throw it all the dang time. Now, Romo has a tendency to hold on to the ball a long time waiting for something big to come open. Romo has made a career out of big plays, not methodically moving it down the field. Callahan is not the one to be coordinator if we're going to preserve Romo's career.

Next season, they will put hit after hit on this guy from all angles. These guys are young and HUGE, and run fast. If he goes down, the doctor's could give him a give it up or die scenario (just an example). If he goes down, what's the plan? If he's forced in to retirement, what's the plan? Oh, find a sleeper in the 6th round who made trick shots with a basketball, or an ex baseball player? How about we trade for or pull a player out of retirement because Jerry wants to be the genius who thought of something no one else thought of?

This franchise is dead if we don't start the process of finding a future QB for this team. And take it seriously this time.
